Chapter 358 I Overstepped

However, Jackson's face suddenly turned cold, and his entire demeanor became extremely gloomy in an instant.

He scolded coldly, "Lillian, who taught you to touch other people's things without permission?"

Lillian had expected him to be flustered, cover-up, or explain, but she truly hadn't anticipated that Jackson would be angry and reproachful.

She thought, 'Of course, he doesn't care about me. The person he truly cares about is Star. Being exposed by me doesn't make him guilty, but rather ashamed and angry. In his mind, I'm not even worthy of touching Star's things.'

A cold wind blew past, sweeping a few fallen leaves across her feet.

Lillian's face turned pale, and she felt a bone-chilling cold.

At this moment, she felt as if her already dead heart was scattered by the wind, leaving no warmth at all.

After a while, Lillian said in a hoarse voice, "Sorry, I overstepped. Who am I? What right do I have to touch your cherished things? I'm sorry. Can I leave now?"

It seemed like she had used up all her strength to speak those short sentences.

She turned around, but Jackson grabbed her wrist again.

"That's not what I meant. Lillian, can you please talk calmly?" Jackson said in a deep voice.

But Lillian completely broke down. She swung her arm forcefully, her eyes bloodshot as she glared back at Jackson.

"Let go of me!" Her voice was loud, echoing in the empty theater square.

She pulled her wrist with such force that she didn't seem to care if he hurt her.

Jackson's heart sank, and he suddenly let go.

Lillian took two steps back, her chest heaving, barely able to hold back the tears that were about to burst out.

Jackson froze, his gloomy eyes locked on her. He swallowed hard and wanted to say something.

At this moment, Shirley hurriedly ran out of the theater.

Shirley had gotten a role and started filming the day before yesterday, but as a supporting character, she didn't have many scenes.

Today, Shirley didn't have any scenes, so she didn't go. Unexpectedly, Gray called, saying he had a bed scene with the female lead today and insisted she come back to the set as a stand-in.

Shirley said she couldn't make it, and Gray threatened that if she didn't come back, she shouldn't return to the crew at all.

Shirley had a hard time calming Gray down, hung up the phone, and then found out that Lillian had been taken away by Jackson.

She ran over and immediately saw that Lillian was emotionally agitated and deeply hurt.

"Jackson! What did you do to Lillian again? She's pregnant, and her emotions directly affect the baby. Don't go too far." Shirley supported Lillian and glared at Jackson.

Jackson frowned, his entire demeanor icy.

Seeing that Lillian indeed didn't look well, he forcibly suppressed his anger and frowned. "You are her good friend. Since you know she's pregnant, you should advise her to take care of herself at home, not act recklessly."

Shirley sneered and said sarcastically, "Do pregnant women have to stay at home? So many pregnant moms are out there working hard, can't you see that?"

"That's sophistry!" Jackson said coldly.

He had no prejudice against pregnant women, nor did he think they should stay at home during pregnancy.

But Lillian wanted to dance, which was different.

He didn't understand. For the past four years, Lillian had obediently listened. Why, now that she was pregnant, did she insist on going back to dance?

Jackson stared at Lillian and asked, "You care so little about your body. Don't you mind if Taylor gets hurt?"

Lillian held onto Shirley's hand, her expression now calm.
