Chapter 570
Jackson had just finished a meeting when he got the news that Bob had escaped. As he walked towards his office, his mood was noticeably dark.
Harry's voice was slightly tense as he spoke, "We've tracked Bob to the airport an hour ago. He must have realized we were tailing him and got scared. He's already left Miracalia.
"Mr. Frane, it was my oversight. I didn't handle this well and let him escape. I'll make it right and find Bob as soon as possible."
Jackson's handsome face turned cold. "Catch Bob first, and then we'll talk."
He hung up the phone, and Mike caught up to him, putting an arm around his shoulder. "Jackson, don't be angry. Bad moods can make you age faster."
Jackson had just been negotiating a merger with the people from the Green Group, and he had been cold the entire time, making Mike think that their project had lost fifty million dollars instead of making a fifty million dollar profit.
In a bad mood, Jackson brushed Mike's hand away and said coldly, "Why are you still here?"
"I'm just concerned about you, Jackson." Mike smirked. "You really should take care of yourself. You're already much older than Lillian, and she really values a man's appearance. If you age and your face starts to sag, you won't stand a chance.
"Pursuing Lillian requires some finesse. If you hold on too tightly, you'll push her away. You need to give her some time to process her emotions.
"Keep up your appearance, and the next time you see her, make sure you look stunning. She'll be captivated by you."
Before Mike could finish, the office door closed in his face.
Mike sighed and shook his head.
He thought it was a huge loss that Jackson wouldn't even listen to the valuable insights from his dozens of dating experiences, offered for free!
Jackson didn't take Mike's words seriously.
He wasn't the type of man who relied on his looks to attract women.
What did Mike take him for? It was all nonsense. He had worked so hard to pursue Lillian and almost lost her. If he slacked off, Lillian would take Taylor and marry another man.
But ten minutes later, Jackson suddenly closed the file in his hand and instructed Terry through the intercom, "Bring in two boxes of face masks!"
Terry remained silent; he thought Jackson was getting stranger by the day.
Lillian was surprised because she hadn't seen Jackson for the entire week that followed.
Although Jackson hadn't shown up, his presence was everywhere.
When Lillian went out, two bodyguards, who were his men, followed her at a distance.
Eulalia, who took care of Lillian, always had one or two dishes that tasted slightly off, not up to her usual standard.
Every morning, Eulalia would refresh the flowers in the living room vase.
No matter what kind of flowers they were, Lillian would always find a green rose among them, the same kind Jackson had given her before.
One morning, Lillian woke up to find a short, coarse hair clinging to her pillow.
Lillian pretended not to notice these little details.
One day, she received a call from Ambrose.
Ambrose told Lillian that Seren's injury had almost healed and that she would be arriving in Miracalia today, even providing the flight number.
Lillian was delighted. Last time in Country N, she had left in such a hurry that she hadn't been able to visit Seren in the hospital, and she had felt guilty about it ever since.
Lillian bought a bouquet of flowers and went to the airport to personally pick up Seren, wanting to surprise her.
After getting out of the car and seeing that she was early, Lillian decided to find a dessert shop to sit in for a while.
Just as she was about to enter the dessert shop, someone tugged on her clothes from behind.
She turned around to see a kind-looking elderly stranger.
The old woman was dressed simply, her eyes fixed on her with a gentle gaze and a face full of smiles.
Lillian was taken aback. Although the old woman gave her a good and friendly feeling, the airport was a crowded place, and she still had her basic guard up.
