Chapter 545 Study Abroad

Jackson finished speaking, didn't look at Star again, and strode into the office.

Terry shook his head and quickly followed him in.

The office door closed, and silence filled the secretary's office.

Star stood there, her face pale, unable to believe that Jackson had put her in such an embarrassing situation in public.

She felt that the people who had just complimented her were now looking at her with doubt and reproach.

One of the female secretaries hesitantly broke the silence. "Mrs. Frane," she spoke up, "what just happened?"

Star looked embarrassed. "Please, don't call me that here," she said, her voice strained. "Mr. Frane prefers to keep his personal and professional lives distinct. This is the company, and he doesn't like people chatting during work hours. Everyone should get back to work. I won't disturb you any longer."

After offering a few evasive replies, she turned to go.

The female secretary grabbed her. "Miss Price, please, you have to talk to Mr. Frane. Ask him to forgive us."

Everyone chimed in, but how could Star dare to agree?

Just as she was feeling helpless and unable to leave, the office door opened, and Terry said, "Miss Price, Mr. Frane would like to see you."

Hearing this, everyone's expressions changed simultaneously.

Star immediately smiled and nodded.

"I'm coming." She quickly walked towards the office.

Jackson was sitting at his desk, reviewing a document. As soon as Star entered the office, she walked towards Jackson.

"Jackson, you wanted to see me for..."

However, before she could finish her sentence, Jackson, without looking up, said, "Terry."

Terry immediately stepped forward, blocking Star's path, and raised his hand.

"Miss Price, please have a seat on the sofa. I'll speak with you."

Star looked at Jackson, who sat there unmoving and distant, and felt a pang of sadness.

But she didn't dare to challenge Jackson's patience any further and quietly followed Terry to the sofa area.

As soon as she sat down, Terry placed a set of organized documents in front of her and said, "Miss Price, please take a look."

Star picked up the documents, and when she saw that they were information about some foreign management schools, her hand holding the documents trembled slightly.

"Jackson, these are..."

She looked up helplessly, and Jackson finally set aside his work to meet her gaze.

"You can take your time to look through them and choose a school you like. Go abroad to study as soon as possible."

Star's face grew even paler. "You mentioned this to my dad before. I've discussed it with him over the past few days. I just returned to my family and lost my mom. I don't want to go abroad; I just want to spend more time with my dad. My dad feels the same way."

As she spoke, she stood up, holding the documents, walked a few steps to Jackson, and pushed the documents back, refusing again.

"Jackson, these schools are excellent, but with my abilities, I can't get into them."

"In that case, you can choose one, and I'll make the arrangements to ensure you get in."

Jackson closed the pen in his hand and spoke with a tone of certainty, making it clear that this was her only option and there was no room for negotiation.

Star's eyes reddened, and she shook her head in fear.

"If I hadn't been away all these years, these schools would have been my dream schools. But now..."

She lowered her head in embarrassment, tears falling.

"Now, I can't even speak a foreign language fluently. If I go abroad, I can't imagine what I'll face with the language barrier. I won't be able to adapt! Jackson, please don't make me go abroad."
