Chapter 706
Lillian was startled and turned to look at Max.
Max frowned slightly, as if trying hard to open his eyes.
Lillian called out, "Max?"
Lillian hurried to check on Max, but Chloe grabbed her arm and said sharply, "Lillian, you've already divorced Jackson, and you still have the nerve to let Max stay in the Frane Hospital! Come with me!"
Chloe dragged Lillian out.
Lillian's face turned cold, and she pushed Chloe hard, "Get out!"
The floor was slippery, and Chloe, wearing high heels, slipped and fell to the ground.
Two servants hurried to help, and Lillian tripped one of the servants. In an instant, the three of them fell into a heap.
Lillian had already grasped Max's hand and called out with concern, "Max, don't worry, it's okay."
Before Lillian could finish her sentence, her hair was suddenly grabbed, and she was dragged backward.
"Lillian! How dare you push me! You're getting more and more outrageous! Today, I must teach you a lesson."
Chloe had taken a heavy fall and got up with her clothes soaked. Several grudges combined, making Chloe furious. She yanked Lillian's hair hard, her expression twisted.
Lillian's scalp hurt, and she couldn't break free for a moment, being dragged out of the ward by Chloe.
Lillian shouted, "Let go! Chloe, or I promise you'll regret what you did today!"
In Chloe's mind, Lillian was still the little orphan girl living under the Frane Mansion's roof.
Chloe had often bossed Lillian around with Daisy in the past.
Hearing Lillian dare to call her by name, Chloe angrily cursed, "Don't try to scare me! You little bitch, who do you think you are? If it weren't for the Frane Family's kindness, you'd have starved to death on the streets!
"Not only are you ungrateful, but you also constantly try to compete with the real lady of the Frane Family. Now you dare to put on airs in front of me.
"Today, I'll take you down and make you kneel before Jenny, so you can feel what it's like to kneel until your legs break!"
Lillian couldn't break free and took out her phone to make a call. As soon as she turned it on, a servant snatched it away and smashed it on the ground.
"What are you doing?" At this moment, Mila came running over with some items.
The night Lillian had a difficult labor, Mila's phone was lost, and someone had synthesized her voice to call Lillian.
Later, Jackson found out that Mila had nothing to do with it, so Mila continued to take care of Max.
But Mila always felt guilty, and now she rushed over and fiercely grabbed Chloe's hair.
With the nurse also alarmed and running over, Chloe had to let go of Lillian, screaming, "Pull her away!"
Two servants went to pull Mila, but Mila immediately let go of Chloe and darted to Lillian's side.
"Are you okay?" Mila asked with concern.
Chloe crossed her arms, her eyes full of disdain. "She's already divorced Jackson, don't you know? Lillian, if you really have dignity, don't use the Frane family's resources after the divorce, making the Frane family support your relatives."
Lillian shook her head at Mila, "I'm fine."
Lilian bent down to pick up her phone and sneered at Chloe, "Who do you think you are? Do you get to decide who stays at Frane Hospital? I've paid for his expenses here, so why can't he stay?"
Chloe said mockingly, "You paid? Don't talk big. How could you afford such high medical expenses without Jackson and the Frane Family?"
Lillian found it laughable, "Even if I did rely on Jackson, it's his choice. What does it have to do with you, a distant aunt?"
People nearby laughed and commented.
"I thought she was the mother-in-law, turns out she's just a distant aunt, really overstepping her bounds."
"Leave now; this isn't a place to make a scene, and the patients need to rest."
Chloe's antics had clearly disturbed others, and they began to criticize her.
Chloe's face turned red with anger, "You know nothing. How is it has nothing to do with me?"
A deep, cold voice suddenly sounded from behind, "Who I'm supposed to take care of is none of your business."
Lillian looked up to see Jackson walking forward from the crowd, with a nervous Terry following behind him.
Terry quickly came over, anxiously and apologetically explaining, "Mrs. Frane, I'm sorry, I accidentally ran into Mr. Solon Frane, which is how Mrs. Chloe Frane found out you were here. Mr. Jackson Frane heard about it and came back immediately because he was worried about you."
Seeing Jackson's stern face, Chloe immediately changed her tone, "Jackson, why are you here? Don't misunderstand, I'm not trying to interfere in your affairs. I just wanted to advise Lillian that if she still needs your help to take care of her brother, she shouldn't cause trouble over small matters."
Before she could finish, Jackson interrupted coldly, "The medical expenses for Max's stay here are covered by Lillian! And if the 'small matters' you're referring to are Jenny repeatedly insulting Lillian in public, then can I also call you a shameless, overbearing shrew?"
Jackson's words were blunt, and Chloe's face turned red with shame and anger. She called out, "How can you say that to me, I'm your elder!"
Jackson sneered, "You shouldn't be arguing with the younger generation over such small matters, right?"
"You!" Chloe was speechless.
Jackson ignored her and turned to Lillian, "Are you okay? What did she do?"
Before Lillian could answer, Mila immediately complained, "She was yanking Lillian's hair! Lillian lost a lot of hair because of her!"
Jackson immediately glared at Chloe, his gaze so fierce that Chloe's face turned pale, and she quickly backed down. "I just wanted Lillian to go downstairs. We're all family. Jackson, you can't be fooled by her and only listen to her side of the story. For her, you even sent your mother..."
Jackson's expression turned severe, "Shut up!"
Chloe shivered and clutched her chest, falling silent.
Lillian frowned, 'What's Chloe about to say about Daisy?'
She had felt before that Jackson was hiding something, and now that feeling was back.
She turned to Jackson, "What do you mean by 'for me,' and what did you do to your mother?"
