Chapter 694
The next morning, Lillian woke up early, hit the dance studio for an hour, took a quick shower, and then knocked on Shirley's bedroom door.
Shirley, still half-asleep, opened the door with a yawn and leaned against Lillian. "Why are you up so early?"
Last night, Shirley had stayed up late, glued to her phone, soaking up all the gossip about Bianca and Horizon Hive Media. She didn't crash until dawn.
Plus, the online hate she'd been getting for the past few days had messed with her sleep big time, leaving her with some serious dark circles.
Lillian had hoped Shirley would be feeling better today after getting her revenge and sorting out her problems.
Seeing Shirley like this, Lillian realized just how much Gray had hurt her.
She hugged Shirley and gave her a gentle pat. "Shirley, you're a star! Since last night, your Twitter followers have shot up by over 300,000, and it's still climbing. Pull yourself together and focus on your career! Make some money and keep a few cute guys around. Now, go get ready."
Hearing this, Shirley perked up and laughed, "Lillian, guess what? Last night, Lyle called me a million times, crying and begging for forgiveness, asking me to come back. Yesterday he ditched me, and today he can't even reach me!"
Lyle Warner was the boss of Shirley's agency. When Shirley got into trouble, Lyle didn't want to cross Bianca, so instead of helping Shirley, he just pushed her aside.
The company's lack of support was why Shirley got bashed online so quickly.
After Lillian helped Shirley out of her mess yesterday, they went together to terminate Shirley's contract.
Lyle quickly ended the contract like it was a hot potato, not expecting things to turn around so fast.
Overnight, Shirley went from being bashed online to being pitied, gaining tons of followers. So, Lyle definitely regretted it.
But Shirley had a better offer; she was going to sign with The Kelly Media.
Today, Lillian was also heading to The Kelly Media.
The Kelly Media was founded by Lillian's biological mom, Ophelia, when she was still alive.
Ophelia loved dance and acting but couldn't pursue it because of her status.
To make up for it, she started The Kelly Media early on, initially focusing on dance and theater. Over the years, the company grew to include a dance troupe, streamers, stars, and models.
Besides film and TV production, they also did graphic design, multimedia development, corporate promo videos, and annual meeting shoots.
When it came to creating traffic stars, they might not match Horizon Hive Media, but The Kelly Media had a broader range of business and its own unique advantages.
Lillian joined The Kelly Media partly because she loved music and dance, making it a perfect fit for her.
On the other hand, Oberon also wanted Lillian to gain experience in the company Ophelia founded, making it easier for her to join the Kelly Group in the future.
When Lillian and Shirley went downstairs, Ambrose was already waiting in the dining room.
He was going to personally take Lillian to the company today, dressed to the nines in a deep blue fitted suit, a royal blue tie paired with a sapphire tie clip and cufflinks.
The deep blue suited him well, making him look reserved yet elegant and composed.
The three had a pleasant breakfast, and as they were about to leave, a servant reminded them, "Sir, Miss, there's a Maybach parked outside. It's been there for three hours now."
Ambrose's eyes darkened a bit, and Lillian's brows furrowed briefly, a flash of annoyance crossing her face. 'Is Jackson seriously losing it, ready to ditch his status to become a full-time stalker?'
Hearing about the Maybach, Shirley frowned too and asked, "What's the license plate number?"
The servant quickly reported it, and Shirley said in annoyance, "It's probably Gray."
Lillian felt helpless.
Thinking of Shirley's worn-out look this morning, Lillian chuckled but still looked at Shirley. "Do you want to see him?"
Shirley shook her head coldly, "We're done. I never look back."
Ambrose raised an eyebrow, his gaze sweeping over Lillian intentionally or unintentionally, and nodded, "Well said."
Lillian didn't notice Ambrose's gaze and saw Shirley's determined expression.
Lillian then turned to Ambrose, tugging at his sleeve. "Ambrose, help us out. Shirley's about to become an actress under the Kelly Group. Protecting our own actress is your job."
Her slender fingers gently shook his suit sleeve, her voice and actions carrying a hint of playfulness.
Ambrose looked helpless, "What do you want me to do?"
Lillian's eyes lit up, "Anything, just get him to leave. Do whatever you want."
Lillian clenched her fist at Ambrose, her face showing a cheering expression.
Shirley held her face and smiled flatteringly at Ambrose, "I think you don't need to do anything. Just standing there can make him feel inferior, really."
Ambrose couldn't help but smile helplessly and dotingly, "Stop flattering me, let's go."
Outside Mystic Meadows, in the Maybach, Gray's assistant reminded him, "Sir, it looks like Shirley and the others are coming out."
Gray, who was resting with his eyes closed in the back seat, immediately opened his eyes and looked outside.
Through the iron gate of the courtyard, he indeed saw Shirley's figure. He quickly tidied his clothes and got out of the car.
Last night, Bianca had a stomach perforation surgery in the hospital. The Porter Family contacted his parents, and Gray was called to the hospital, only getting away at dawn.
He left the hospital and called Shirley, only to find that she had blocked all his contact information.
He asked Jackson and found out that Shirley was at the Kelly Mansion. Without going home, he stayed here.
However, as he walked towards the gate, he saw a car drive up to the three people in the courtyard.
Lillian opened the car door and got into the back seat. Then, Shirley stood there chatting enthusiastically with Ambrose.
Shirley's face was adorned with a radiant smile, and her eyes, reflecting the morning light, shone brightly with undisguised focus and admiration as she looked up at Ambrose.
Ambrose stood casually, one hand in his pocket, slightly leaning towards Shirley, listening carefully with a gentle smile on his lips.
At this moment, a servant came out quickly, holding a white cashmere coat and sunglasses.
Ambrose immediately turned and took the coat, gently draping it over Shirley's shoulders, then opened the sunglasses and bent down to help her put them on.
Shirley not only didn't refuse but even reached out to adjust Ambrose's tie.
The two interacted like a couple heading to work together in the morning.
Gray's vision darkened, and his face turned livid.
He took a few steps forward and shouted, "Shirley! Come here!"
In the courtyard, the two finally looked over, and Gray squinted his eyes, raising his hand towards Shirley.
