Chapter 98 Nightmare

"Saved from danger and transferred to a regular ward." Kevin said as he stood at the end of the hospital corridor. After hearing Lillian's long exhale on the phone, he chuckled.

"Now you can rest assured. Rest well. I will take care of the rest for you."

"Thank you." Lillian leaned on the railing, a relieved smile on her face.

In any case, that person didn't die, which made her feel much more relaxed.

Kevin raised his hand to touch his nose. "Did I interrupt your good time with Jackson? He seems to be in a bad mood, you should hang up quickly."

Before Lillian could react, the call was already disconnected.

Lillian held the phone. After realizing that Kevin had misunderstood, her face blushed slightly.

She turned back to the room, but Jackson walked out of the dressing room.

Lillian looked at him in his casual outfit, stunned. She walked over and handed him the phone, explaining, "I encountered a gang of thieves today, and my phone and bag were stolen. Luckily, I met Kevin, and he just called to say my bag has been found."

Jackson took the phone, seeming unconcerned about the danger she had faced tonight.

With a cold face, he took the phone, put it in his suit pocket, and walked away.

Lillian grabbed his sleeve. "It's late, are you going out? By the way, have you changed the bandage on your wound? Let me change it for you first."

Lillian hadn't forgotten that she promised to temporarily return to the Peace Mansion to tend to Jackson's arm injury.

And tonight, she was a little scared and wanted Jackson to stay.

Jackson, however, pulled back his sleeve. "No need. Who can't change a bandage?"

After saying that, without giving Lillian a chance to stop him, he walked away quickly.

Lillian stared blankly at his disappearing figure, feeling how warm he was in hers arms just now, and now how cold he seemed.

The sound of a car echoed downstairs, then silence.

He told Kevin that his wife could take care of herself, did he forget?

Lillian trembled, realizing she had been standing in place for a long time.

The sound of water in the bathroom was still running. She walked in, and found that the hot water had overflowed from the bathtub.

She decided to take a hot bath. When she was done, she lay on the bed and closed her eyes, but all she could see were unpleasant images.

The sheets and pillows seemed to still carry some of Jackson's scent. She tossed and turned, not knowing when she finally fell asleep hugging the pillow.

The mist was thick, and she ran barefoot in the maze-like alley, footsteps behind her like a shadow.

No matter how she tried to escape, she couldn't shake it off. A blurry face covered in blood suddenly emerged from the mist, grabbing Lillian's neck.

Lillian screamed and sat up suddenly.

Covered in cold sweat, she felt like she had just been pulled out of the water.

When Lillian tidied up and went downstairs from upstairs, Tina came out of the dining room.

"Ms. Lillian, breakfast is ready, would you like to have it now?"

Lillian nodded, and Tina pointed to the coffee table.

"The two boxes placed together were sent over by Kevin this morning, and the other one next to it is left by Mr. Jackson for you."

Lillian walked over and opened the box sent by Kevin first. It contained a new bag and a brand-new phone. Her SIM card was already inserted into the new phone, and the model was the same as her previous one.

Lillian's lips curled up, and she opened the phone to thank Kevin.

As she was about to leave, she subconsciously glanced at Twitter and immediately saw Wendy's post.

Wendy: [When you are hurt in this world, there is always someone who hurts more than you.]

The picture showed a blood-stained gauze, and in the comments, Jenny asked.

Jenny: [Who hurt Wendy? I know, it's Jackson!]

Thinking of Jackson's words last night before leaving, "Who can't change a bandage," Lillian's lips curled up mockingly, and she closed the phone expressionlessly.

She didn't even want to look at the box left by Jackson. But the box was a bit big, curiosity got the better of her, and she opened it.

After seeing it, Lillian's face turned sullen. It was a green fish head mask!

How old was Jackson really?

Lillian disdainfully covered the lid back on.
