Chapter 223 Jackson Stood up for Lillian.

Jenny's shocking words caught Lillian off guard, so she hesitated for a moment, allowing Jenny's hands to reach for her neck.

Jackson came from behind, grabbed Jenny's hand, and threw her away.

“Having been confined for a day and a night, do you not see your error?" Jackson pulled Lillian closer, his cold gaze fixed on Jenny, who lay on the ground with an indifferent expression.

Jenny was unaware that Jackson had also arrived. Following an argument with Lillian at the coffee shop, Terry brought her here and she was under the watch of bodyguards.

She had been confined for a day and a night, during which time she hadn't even been offered a glass of tea.

Jenny's face was pale at the moment, looking haggard with cracked lips.

It was because of this that she felt so angry and resentful upon seeing Lillian. But now, being stared at by Jackson, fear surged within her, and tears streamed down her face.

“Jackson, Lillian has divorced you. I am your family. How can you support Lillian so unquestioningly? My parents are unaware that you've secretly confined me. If they discover this, they will surely seek retribution from Grandma Lyra and Uncle Martin.”

“Jenny, you've done wrong and now you're trying to manipulate my grandma, Lyra, and my dad, Martin, to pressure me. It looks like you're asking to be locked away for a few more days," Jackson said with contempt, holding Lillian and getting ready to leave.

Jenny panicked this time. She knew that not even Lyra and Martin could protect her from Jackson in the Frane family.

She didn't want to be confined any longer; she was nearly famished.

Jenny rose from the ground and rushed over, tearfully pleading, "Jackson, what do you want from me? If you want me to apologize to Lillian, I apologize.”

Lillian didn't expect that Jackson had brought her here to apologize to Jenny.

She also didn't expect that Jackson had actually locked up Jenny.

Reflecting on the insults Jenny had directed at her in the coffee shop, Lillian spoke firmly, "I don't require an apology, and I have no desire to forgive you. Apologies are meaningless, and you have apologized on numerous occasions."

Just days earlier, Jenny had been compelled to apologize to herself by Lyra at the Frane Mansion. Yet, in the coffee shop, she had resorted to using such vulgar language to insult her in front of numerous people.

Jenny heard Lillian's words and felt that she was tactful.

She gazed at Jackson with confidence and stated, "Jackson, you heard it. Lillian doesn't require my apology. I am truly sorry. In that case, I will depart."

Thinking the issue was resolved, she moved to make a quick exit, fearing she would be unable to leave if she waited.

However, she was blocked by the bodyguard at the door.

Jenny's face turned pale again, tears streaming down.

She asked, "Jackson, what do you want?"

Jackson avoided looking at Jenny and instead focused on Lillian as he asked, "Do you truly not require an apology?"

Lillian chuckled self-deprecatingly, commenting, "Will Jenny's repeated apologies make a difference? It's pointless. It will only embolden her, foster resentment, and lead to even more outrageous behavior in the future.”

Jackson's expression turned even colder at Lillian's words, and his gaze shifted towards Jenny. "Repeated apologies? Jenny, it seems you've done a lot of things I didn't know about."

Jenny trembled, her face pale, desperately wishing she could silence Lillian. She had anticipated that Lillian would not be kind enough to let her apologize.

It turned out that it was all a lie, and by doing so, Jackson was visibly angrier.
