Chapter 250 Willing to Be Deceived by Wendy

Lillian's voice grew shrill as she said, "Look and listen carefully, Jackson! The child in Wendy's womb isn't yours at all. She's been cheating on you, deceiving you just to get you to invest in the Sivan family!"

Jackson watched the shaky footage on his phone, the disheveled clothes of the man and woman, and the scene was so indecent .

He glanced at it briefly, not waiting for the video to finish before turning it off. He then manipulated the phone, forwarded the video to himself, erased the traces, and deleted the original video.

He released his hand that had been covering Lillian's eyes.

"I'm neither blind nor deaf," he said as he handed the phone back to Lillian.

Lillian took it and immediately tried to play the video again, feeling that Jackson hadn't taken it seriously. She wanted him to watch it again but found that the video was no longer in the album. It had suddenly disappeared, clearly deleted by Jackson. Unwilling to give up, she checked the cloud storage, but even there, it had been erased.

She stared at Jackson in disbelief, asking, "What do you mean?"

"I told you before the child isn't mine. Do you think I would be deceived into investing billions in the Sivan family?" Jackson asked calmly. His face remained impassive, clearly unaffected by the video.

Lillian looked at him incredulously as she asked, "So, even if you knew all along the child wasn't yours, were you still willing to be deceived by Wendy and invest in the Sivan family?"

Jackson nodded and said, "There are reasons. I'll tell you later."

Lillian felt a sharp pain in her heart. What could make a man help a woman like this?

Billions of dollars were no small amount, and Jackson was the most successful businessman. Even if he didn't love Wendy, he inevitably felt pity and soft-heartedness for her.

Moreover, during this time, Daisy had always thought Wendy's child was Jackson's, and Jackson hadn't bothered to explain.

His attitude had never changed, and he was clearly willing to take responsibility for Wendy's child.

Even though he had known the child wasn't his and Wendy had a lover, he was still willing.

Why should she be angry and anxious for him when he was so selflessly loving Wendy? It was laughable.

Lillian had a faint smile indeed, but the smile never reached her eyes. She suddenly pushed Jackson away and stood up, shouting, "Since you knew all along, then I was just being redundant. We're divorced, and I'm leaving. The reasons you never bothered to explain to me as your wife before, you don't need to tell me now. I don't want to hear it, and I'm not interested anymore!"

Lillian turned to leave.

Jackson frowned, grabbed her wrist, and asked, "Jeffrey should be finishing his treatment soon. Where are you going?"

Lillian forcefully shook off Jackson's hand, saying, "I'm not going. I don't want to run into your mother and have an unpleasant encounter."

Though she was worried about Jeffrey, staying there wouldn't help. Since Martin and the others were already there, she couldn't even get close to the bedside. Why did she bother going and making herself miserable?

Lillian turned and walked away quickly. Jackson watched her cold, distant back, wanting to follow, but his phone rang.

It was Martin calling, likely about Jeffrey.

Jackson had to turn and walk quickly in the opposite direction.

On her way back, Lillian felt something stuck in her heart. She took out her phone, opened the ticketing app, and looked at the plane ticket she had booked long ago. Thinking about leaving soon, all the troubles here would be left far behind. When she was abroad, she would have her beloved dance and her sweet baby. She wouldn't have to see the people who annoyed her before leaving. As she thought about that, her mood began to cheer up.

However, things often didn't go as planned. Lillian hadn't even reached home when she received a call from Lyra.

Lyra urged, "Lillian, come back to the hospital immediately."

Lillian asked, "Grandma? What's wrong?"

"Don't ask me. I've asked Peggy to wait for you at the hospital entrance. Hurry up." After saying that, Lyra hung up.

Lillian was worried that something had happened to Jeffrey, so she anxiously asked the driver to turn the car around. When she got out, Peggy was waiting there.

Lillian hurried over and asked, "Peggy, what's going on?"

"Mrs. Frane, don't ask me. Just follow me, "Peggy said as she walked quickly ahead.

Lillian followed, and her heart  was in turmoil. She was worried that Jeffrey's condition had worsened, that something had gone wrong.

But soon, she realized something was off.

Peggy led her to the obstetrics and gynecology department, and Lillian's heart skipped a beat.

Could it be that Lyra had found out about her pregnancy?
