Chapter 387 Meeting Star
Lillian felt a bit embarrassed, but Jackson glanced down at her and said, "Don't move."
He quickened his pace, and Lillian looked up at his well-defined jawline, asking, "Is it appropriate for you to carry me like this to meet Star?"
Jackson could easily read her thoughts. He looked down and stopped walking, his lips slightly pressed as he said, "You're right. Maybe you should get down..."
Before he could finish, Lillian instinctively tightened her grip around his neck.
Jackson chuckled with a hint of teasing. "Actions speak louder than words."
Lillian blushed, and she lightly punched his chest.
By this time, Jackson had already stepped into Serenity Haven Manor.
Lillian felt inexplicably nervous. She looked around, thinking that since someone was living in Serenity Haven Manor, there would be some changes.
However, the living room was still arranged the way she had set it up before, as if no one had been living there.
At that moment, footsteps came from the direction of the dining room, and someone walked out.
Lillian turned her head and saw Star.
Star was carrying a plate of fruit. When she saw them, she was momentarily stunned, then smiled a bit awkwardly and said in surprise, "Mr. Frane?"
Apparently, Star hadn't been informed of their visit in advance.
Lillian wondered, 'Why was Star calling Jackson Mr. Frane. Previously, I clearly heard she call him Jackson very intimately.'
Lillian looked at Jackson questioningly, but he didn't look at her. He just nodded at Star and said, "This is my wife."
Star quickly looked at Lillian and immediately recognized her, her face showing delight as she said, "It's you! We met before in the restaurant restroom. You got scalded on your hand at that time."
Lillian smiled and nodded. "You're right. I didn't get a chance to properly thank you that day."
"No need." Star waved her hand, but Lillian noticed that she was still wearing a glove on her right hand.
Lillian found it a bit strange and stared at her hand for a moment.
Just then, a young voice came from the dining room. "Mom, I finished washing the strawberries, and they're really clean."
Lillian looked over in surprise and saw a little girl of about 4 or 5 years old carrying a small bowl of strawberries out of the dining room.
Seeing people in the living room, the girl shyly hid behind Star but curiously stared at Lillian and Jackson.
Star looked down and said gently, "Jasmine, say hello to Uncle Jackson and Auntie Lillian."
Jasmine timidly glanced at Jackson and softly said, "Uncle Jackson."
She then looked at Lillian, clearly more bold and cheerful, and said with wide eyes, "Sister Lillian, did you hurt your leg? Don't be sad. I will give you a strawberry."
Jasmine picked a big, red strawberry and stood on tiptoe to offer it to Lillian.
Lillian hadn't yet recovered from her surprise. It was not what she had expected at all.
She guessed in her mind, 'Has Star already gotten married and had children?'
Lillian quickly took the strawberry from Jasmine and thanked her. "Jasmine, you're so cute. The strawberry looks delicious. Thank you."
Jackson didn't find Jasmine cute at all.
He thought to himself, 'Jasmine actually called me uncle and Lillian sister. Is she cute? In the future, Taylor better not be like Jasmine, who doesn't seem very smart.'
Jasmine was clearly afraid of Jackson and shrank back behind Star.
Star patted her head and said, "Jasmine, go play with your toys over there."
Jasmine nodded and went to the living room.
Jackson sat down on the sofa with Lillian in his arms and said, "Star, sit down and explain our situation to my wife."
