Chapter 713

Jackson took another document from Terry and said, "Chloe, these are your family's records and expenses at Frane Hospital over the years. Just your two brothers taking various women for abortions and hospital stays costs a lot of money each year, all charged to Solon's account, using Solon's name. Not to mention your other family members going to the hospital for check-ups and stays every now and then. Who exactly is using the Frane family's resources?"

Chloe's face turned red.

Solon was even more ashamed and angry, grabbing her tightly, "Doesn't that ruin my reputation? People who don't know might think it's all my fault! Your brothers fool around, and I have to take the blame? Their behavior is worse than the Young family, and you have the nerve to criticize others!"

Solon's words made Chloe even more embarrassed, and she opened her mouth to argue. But the facts were right in front of her, leaving her no room to argue.

So Chloe could only say angrily, "It's not just me, Claire's family, and her three daughters-in-law's families are the same."

Claire had indeed done similar things over the years. After all, the Frane Group's own hospital was certainly convenient for her family.

Lyra was generous, and Martin and Jackson had never said anything about it.

But now, being called out by Jackson made it embarrassing, especially since Chloe dragged Claire into it.

Claire immediately stated her position, saying, "Lillian grew up in the Frane family and has always been considered part of the Frane family. Even if Max stayed at Frane Hospital for treatment, it's understandable. I'm not like Chloe, with double standards."

Chloe's face turned even more livid, and she felt like she was sitting on pins and needles.

Jackson didn't dwell on the hospital issue. He took out another card. "Every member of the Frane family has this card. The family trust deposits money into it every month. This one is Lillian's. She never took it with her, and the money in it has only increased. Because over the years, she hasn't withdrawn a single penny from it. In fact, since she was fourteen, she has been depositing money into this card every month, ranging from a few hundred dollars to tens of thousands of dollars."

Jackson placed the card and the bank statements on the table. His voice deepened as he said, "I divorced Lillian, and it was my fault, but she left with nothing. Although this has nothing to do with you all, I still want you to know."

Jackson's gaze swept around the room, finally landing on Lilian.

His eyes dimmed slightly, and he continued, "Although Lilian grew up in the Frane family, she owes the Frane family nothing. I don't want to hear anyone belittling her, looking down on her, or using so-called gratitude to bind her."

Jackson's voice was deep and firm, his gaze warningly fixed on Jenny.

Jenny felt a chill down her neck. She not knew that Jackson's words were mostly directed at her. She bit her lip hard, feeling that her previous sense of superiority and pride as the Frane family's lady in front of Lillian had been shattered. Her mouth tasted of blood, and her face was pale. She looked at Lyra with red eyes.

But Lyra didn't look at Jenny. Instead, she tightly held Lilian's hand and said to others, "Jackson's words are also my thoughts. Lillian not only doesn't owe the Frane family, but the Frane family owes her a lot. Don't forget, she saved my life when she was a child! Over the years, she has taken care of me and accompanied me the most, much more filial than any of you. From now on, anyone who dares to speak ill of her will be punished!"

Lilian's eyelashes trembled. The warmth from Lyra's hand spread to her heart, causing her vision to blur.

She hadn't expected Jackson to gather the Frane family to say these things.

Having been taken in by the Frane family since childhood, she had always felt inferior and timid in front of them, unable to hold her head high.

She always felt that the Frane family had given her a life and raised her, a debt she could never repay.

Jackson had said similar things to her before, "Lilian, the Frane family raised you. Your life belongs to the Frane family. You don't deserve to defy or leave the Frane family."

But now, Jackson was telling everyone that she owed the Frane family nothing. No one in the Frane family had the right to use past gratitude to pressure her.

Lilian moved her lips, wanting to say something to Lyra, but the lump in her throat grew heavier, and she didn't know what to say. Her heart was a mix of bitterness, relief, and complex emotions.

Lyra seemed to understand her thoughts, patting her hand reassuringly, and said to everyone, "Alright, everything that needed to be said has been said. Tonight, I just want to have a quiet dinner with Lillian. You all can go back to your homes; you don't need to stay."

Lyra said, pulling Lilian up, "Lilian, help me back to my room to rest for a while. Jackson, see them out."

"Yes, Grandma," Jackson responded, his gaze focused on Lilian, but unfortunately, Lilian never looked at him. She seemed to be avoiding his gaze.

Jenny's family was the most embarrassed today. Jenny watched Lillian and Lyra leave, chatting and laughing, and couldn't help but leave angrily, ignoring her leg pain.

Ezekiel got into the car and said to Claire beside him, "Mom and Jackson went to great lengths to gather the whole family just to talk about Lilian. It seems Jackson is determined to remarry her. You should stop thinking about bringing your niece to Jackson."

Claire frowned and said sourly, "I know. I really don't understand what's so good about Lillian that makes Mom and Jackson like her so much."

Ezekiel sighed, "Alright, if you don't want to end up like Solon's family, you should stop saying things like that."

Lillian chatted with Lyra for a while, and there was still some time before dinner.

Lyra wanted to rest for a bit, so Lilian left the bedroom.

As soon as she opened the door, she bumped into Peggy, who was carrying a tray.

The medicine on Peggy's tray spilled, staining Lilian's sweater dress.

Peggy called out apologetically, "Oh no, did it burn you? I'm so careless. What should I do?"

Peggy said anxiously. Lilian was wearing a white sweater dress, which was very absorbent, and her chest was immediately stained. Fortunately, the medicine wasn't hot and didn't burn Lilian.

Lilian didn't care about her clothes and pointed to the medicine, "What's wrong with Lyra? Why is she taking medicine?"

Peggy replied, "It's nothing serious, just that Mrs. Frane hasn't had a good appetite lately and needs some adjustment. Why don't you go back to the bedroom, take a shower, and change your clothes? Don't worry, Mr. Jackson Frane was called by Mr. Martin Frane to talk. I'll keep watch and make sure no one goes in."

The medicine smell on her chest was strong, and Lillian had no other choice.

Seeing Peggy's apologetic and sincere face, she hesitated for a moment and then nodded.
