Chapter 603
He never thought he would have to agree to divorce her just to get her to eat something.
Lillian stared Jackson down, finally facing him head-on.
First time today she actually looked at him, not dodging his gaze.
Jackson's breath caught, his spine went rigid, and he tensed up for no reason.
But he couldn't read a thing from Lillian's eyes.
All the old feelings—love, joy, disgust, even the bit of resentment he just stirred up—gone.
He felt hollow inside, his lips barely moving as he said, "I don't wanna force you, but if you keep this up, your body won't handle it."
Since the incident, she hadn't eaten a thing, just getting nutrients through IV drips.
If this kept going, her body would definitely give out.
Lillian's lips twisted into a mocking smile, "Your deep affection is a joke."
He'd changed his clothes, rocking a dark gray shirt with a checkered tie, freshly shaved, jawline sharp and cold.
He smelled like fresh mint body wash, and except for the bloodshot eyes, he still looked as cold and dignified as ever.
Losing Taylor was probably just a minor hiccup for him.
That was why he thought she'd be up for eating now.
He thought he was doing her a favor, but it was all just to ease his own guilt.
Jackson's indifference was chilling!
"Think whatever you want. If you want a divorce, get up and eat something." Jackson's voice was flat, leaving no room for argument.
Lillian eventually propped herself up, and Jackson leaned in to help, then called for someone in a deep voice.
Soon, a servant came in and laid out a nutritious meal in front of Lillian.
Since she was so weak, Jackson had consulted a nutritionist and a health manager to whip up a meal plan overnight.
Lillian picked up a spoon, her wrist weak, no appetite at all.
A big hand took the bowl from her and brought it to her lips the next second.
"You don't have the strength, I'll feed you."
Lillian lifted her eyes and said, "Looking at you makes me wanna puke."
Jackson's handsome face darkened instantly, the spoon clinking heavily against the bowl.
His jaw tightened as he stared at her.
His eyes were red with emotion, but Lillian's eyes were like a dead pool.
After a moment, Jackson stood up from the bedside and coldly instructed the servant nearby, "You take care of her meal!"
The servant was startled, nervously stepping forward to take the bowl from Jackson's hand.
Lillian didn't want to trouble the servants and wanted to finalize the divorce quickly. So, even though she had no appetite, she forced herself to eat.
The servant cleared away the remaining food, and Lillian looked at Jackson standing by the window.
"Happy now?"
She asked, her tone like a negotiation.
Jackson's thin lips pressed tightly together, understanding her meaning, he took out his phone and made a call.
In Miracalia, Jackson had some serious pull.
The State Court staff arrived quickly, and within ten minutes, Lillian had taken her divorce photo and got her divorce certificate right in the hospital room without even getting out of bed.
Getting the divorce certificate so easily made her previous trips to State Court seem like a joke.
Lillian held the divorce certificate, laughing mockingly and sadly.
When she looked up, Jackson had just sent off the staff and came back in.
Lillian clutched the divorce certificate and said to him, "The kid's gone, the marriage is over, what else do you wanna use to control me? If there's nothing else, get out, I don't wanna see you anymore."
