Chapter 636
Daisy blurted out, "I can't just up and leave for five years! Jeffrey just had surgery and still needs me..."
"Shut it!" Martin snapped, shooting her a deadly glare.
This was the easiest punishment she could get. If Daisy had any brains, she'd know now wasn't the time to mouth off but to play it cool.
Daisy got the message loud and clear from Martin's look.
She went pale, stepped out from behind Martin, grabbed Jackson's arm, and said, "Jackson, I messed up. I've been regretting it for ages. I was freaked out when I heard the kid died at the hospital. It was an accident! I'm sorry. I'll go up and apologize to Lillian. I..."
Jackson yanked his hand away, his face stone-cold the whole time.
"No need, she doesn't want your apology. Some things can't be fixed with a simple 'sorry.'"
He stared at Daisy, who was bawling and looking all kinds of sorry.
But Jackson just sneered, not buying her act for a second.
She was just scared of the heat now that she was caught.
He looked at Martin and said, "Sending her abroad for five years? Dad, isn't that a bit too easy?"
Martin frowned, "Jackson, what do you want then?"
Jackson plopped down on the sofa and said, "Call the cops. Let her face the music."
Daisy was stunned. "I'm your mother! You want to throw me in jail?"
Martin's face darkened. "No! I won't allow it! This would ruin the Frane family's name."
Jackson scoffed, "The Frane family's name is already in the gutter!"
He paused, then added, "There's another way."
Daisy's face lit up. She knew it; she was his mom after all.
Even if things were rocky between them, Jackson couldn't just ignore that.
If he really sent her to jail, his own rep would take a hit too.
Martin's face softened a bit, but then Jackson said calmly, "I've got a hospital lined up. She goes there today and doesn't need to come back until she's better."
Daisy frowned, "What hospital? I'm not sick."
Then it hit her, and she felt a chill. "Do you mean a mental hospital?"
She hoped she was wrong, but Jackson nodded. "Yes."
Daisy shouted, "I'm not going! You want to lock me in a mental hospital. I'm not crazy!"
"Not crazy? What kind of sane person causes their own grandkid's death? This isn't something you can just deny."
Jackson said coldly, ignoring Daisy's terrified look, and told Harry, "If she won't get treatment, call the cops!"
Harry whipped out his phone, and Martin lunged for it, but Harry was too quick.
Martin yelled at everyone, but no one in the Frane House listened to him anymore, and his crew wasn't enough to fight back.
Amid Martin's furious shouts, two bodyguards pinned Daisy down.
Jackson said coldly, "Jail or treatment, Dad, pick one."
Jackson wasn't giving a third option, and Daisy looked at Martin, begging.
Martin finally gritted his teeth and said, "Your mental state is off. Jackson's doing this for your own good. Go get better and come back when you're well."
Daisy couldn't believe Martin was ditching her like this.
She was livid and wanted to curse Martin for being heartless and Jackson for being a bad son, but Jackson signaled the bodyguards to gag her again.
