Chapter 277 Why Won't You Let Me Go?
In an instant, the warmth on Jackson's handsome face vanished completely. He raised his hand, gripped Lillian's chin, and lifted her face.
Her eyes were moist, still carrying a hint of allure. Her cheeks flushed, and her lips were swollen. Everywhere bore the marks of their recent passionate entanglement. The air in the cabin was still thick with the scent of their lovemaking, igniting a fierce tenderness in his heart.
However, she was already thinking of leaving him again! Jackson felt as if Lillian had poured a bucket of ice water over his heart, the bone-chilling cold igniting an intense fury.
He suddenly tightened his grip on her jawbone and said coldly, "Back to the airport? Without my permission, you can't go anywhere!"
His grip was a bit too strong, causing Lillian to frown in pain. She was stunned as she asked, "But you just promised to take me back to the airport, didn't you?"
She had just told him that if they did it one more time, he would take her back to the airport, and she thought he had agreed.
Jackson, however, raised an eyebrow mockingly and retorted, "That was what you said. When did I agree?"
Lillian was almost driven mad with anger. She was furious for being humiliated, raising her hand to punch Jackson's chest. She punched rapidly as she cursed, "Jackson, you bastard! You're unreasonable! If you didn't agree, why did you touch me?"
Her body was soft and weak, with no real strength behind her punches. Though she seemed fierce, her fists landing on Jackson's body didn't hurt him at all.
Jackson even leaned back lazily against the seat, giving her plenty of space.
He said casually, "Was I the only one who enjoyed it just now? Who was it that cried out comfortably under me, begging me to slow down..."
Lillian's face blushed instantly. She raised her hand to cover Jackson's mouth, embarrassed and angry. "Stop talking!"
Jackson's eyes darkened as he stared at her, kissing Lillian's palm. His lips were scorching, the heat and the softness of his tongue brushing against her palm, making Lillian panic and try to withdraw her hand. But Jackson suddenly grabbed her wrist, not allowing her to pull away. He kissed her fingers gently, with endless tenderness. The sensation traveled straight to her heart, so each kiss seemed to land directly on her heart.
Her heart was in turmoil, in a state of extreme confusion. The effort she had put into suppressing her reluctance and attachment, her love, desire, anger, and infatuation—all were easily stirred up by him. This was the man she had loved for so many years, from eight to twenty-two. Whether it was the love for a brother or the romantic love that gradually developed, she had given it all to him! Only to him!
She couldn't even tell when this feeling had changed, but she knew that for these fourteen years, her heart had been full of him. She had loved too long and waited too long, only to be met with emptiness. She no longer dared to hope for that outcome. But his current obsessive intimacy gave her the illusion that he might love her too.
Lillian's lips moved as she tried to muster the courage to ask once more. Lillian asked, "Are you clinging to me because you can't bear to let me go? Jackson, have you fallen for me?"
She held her breath, her eyes filled with hope as she stared at Jackson.
Jackson's eyes were deep as he asked, "Does it matter? If I say I like you, will you obediently come back with me, withdraw the divorce application, and stop this nonsense?"
Even though he said "if," Lillian's heart raced wildly.
She thought to herself, 'Yes, it is like that.'
Even if he lied to her, she would willingly immerse herself in the dream and never wake up.
She pressed her dry lips together, about to nod, when her phone's ringtone abruptly rang out.
It was Lillian's phone.
When Jackson had torn off Lillian's jeans earlier, the phone had fallen into the cabin. Now, it lit up with a glaring light. Barry's name flashed on the screen.
