Chapter 561
The contents of the voice recorder had already been extracted, with some parts deleted.
The recorder had been taken away and would soon be delivered to Jackson through another channel, leaving no trace.
"What did the voice recorder capture?" Star asked anxiously and curiously.
Dominic smiled faintly. "Some interesting things. You did well today, get some rest."
In the hospital corridor, Jackson's deep voice brought Lillian back to reality. "What are you thinking about?"
Lillian shook her head. She wouldn't share her doubts about Star with Jackson.
Because Jackson would definitely believe in Star, and without any evidence, accusing Star of ill intentions would be unreasonable.
Suppressing her frustration, Lillian said, "I'm going to see Max."
"Let's go see the obstetrician first," Jackson, concerned about Lillian, continued before she could refuse. "Last night, Bob scared you. Being startled can cause physical harm. Let the doctor check you out to be safe."
Jackson took her to the OB-GYN, and after a simple check-up confirmed she was fine, he personally helped her out.
Lillian blushed and glared at Jackson. "Can you stop making a big deal out of things in front of others?"
In the office just now, the doctor was very nervous because of his presence, making Lillian feel quite embarrassed.
"I'm not making a big deal out of it. Because anything concerning you is a big deal to me now," Jackson said and lowered his gaze, his eyes focused intently on Lillian.
His straightforward tone, along with his gaze and expression, was too serious.
It made it impossible to doubt his words.
Lillian couldn't help but look up at Jackson, somewhat lost in his deep eyes.
At that moment, a familiar voice sounded. "Lillian, Mr. Frane?"
Lillian snapped back to reality, her eyelashes fluttering as she looked ahead. "Barry?"
It was Barry, with a coat draped over his arm, looking at her with gentle concern. "Are you feeling unwell? Why are you getting checked?"
Before Lillian could answer, Jackson wrapped his large hand around her waist, pulling her into his embrace, and replied, "Dr. Hall, you're a neurosurgeon, right? Why are you handling obstetrics now?"
Jackson's tone was filled with anger from the start.
Barry's gaze swept over Jackson's hand tightly holding Lillian, then he looked up and said calmly, "Mr. Frane, you misunderstood. I was just genuinely concerned about Lillian and was asking her."
Jackson's handsome face darkened slightly, and he let out a cold laugh. But before he could say more, Lillian looked up and gave him a warning glare.
For some reason, Jackson's Adam's apple moved slightly, and he swallowed the words he was about to say.
Lillian then smiled lightly at Barry. "It was just a routine check-up, nothing serious. Thank you for your concern, Barry."
Barry nodded, a faint smile appearing in his eyes. Seeing that Lillian didn't pull away from Jackson's embrace, his eyes dimmed slightly, and he asked, "Lillian, have you two reconciled?"
Jackson was clearly losing patience. This time, he spoke before Lillian could respond, "Dr. Hall, why do you look so surprised? Do you not want us to reconcile?"
He smiled faintly, and before Barry could reply, he continued, "Too bad. Lillian and I grew up together; we know each other best. We've been happily married for over two years and are about to have our baby.
"Even if we divorced, it would only be a new beginning. Our reconciliation was just a matter of time. I advise some people not to think they can take advantage; they will only end up waiting in vain."
