Chapter 332 Big Baby
"Lilian, I heard Jackson got injured and is in the hospital, so we come visit him," York smiled kindly at Lillian and said.
Grace's expression was somewhat unnatural, considering she hadn't been very nice to Lillian before.
But now the Sivan family was in dire straits, so they had no choice but to ask Lillian for help.
Lillian smiled politely and said, "He's already been discharged."
"Lilian, are you still mad at me? Wendy is pregnant with Jackson's child. As a mother, it's only natural for me to think about my daughter. I know I'm selfish, and I apologize. Can you help the Sivan family for the sake of the past when I was your mother?" Grace's eyes reddened, and she felt very embarrassed.
Grace was a somewhat famous dancer, and artists often had a sense of pride.
However, she was used to a wealthy lifestyle, and the thought of poverty after bankruptcy made her swallow her pride.
Lillian didn't expect Wendy to still have lied to Grace about the child being Jackson's.
Lillian frowned slightly and asked, "What help?"
"Jackson stopped funding the Sivan family. It was originally confirmed, but now it's cut off. The Sivan Group's cash flow has already broken," York elaborated.
Lillian didn't know about this, and Jackson hadn't mentioned it to her.
"Lilian, for the sake of your grandmother, you can't just watch the Sivan family fall. This family business was built by your grandparents," York pleaded.
The grandmother York mentioned was Wade.
Wade had passed away when Lillian was five, and a lot of Lillian's memories of Wade were blurry.
But Wade had doted on Lillian, and that warmth and affection were deeply buried in Lillian's heart.
Undeniably, the fact that the Frane family adopted Lillian was connected to the Sivan family.
York clearly knew Lillian's weak spot, and Lillian wasn't tough enough.
"I'll talk to Jackson, but I can't guarantee he'll change his mind," Lillian said.
York exchanged a glance with Grace, and Grace stepped forward to hug Lillian and said earnestly, "Good girl. You're always so soft-hearted and kind."
Lillian patted Grace's back but took the opportunity to pluck a few strands of Grace's hair.
She pushed Grace away and said calmly, "After this, I owe nothing to the Sivan family."
Lillian took the lead and left.
Grace and York's happy expressions froze.
York sighed. "Back then, our family could have afforded to raise two daughters."
Grace's eyes reddened as she said, "But Wendy was so sensitive and fragile back then. She was our biological child. How couldn't we give her enough security? Honey, we didn't do anything wrong, did we?"
York sighed again. "It's already like this. Forget it. Let's go."
The two left, and the door to the nearby emergency exit was pushed open.
Wendy walked out, looking at their backs. Her fists clenched, her body trembled, and her eyes were filled with resentment and unwillingness.
She thought, 'After all these years of effort and trying to please them, why am I still no match for Lillian? These days, even while hospitalized, I've been making calls everywhere, seeking investment for the Sivan family. What has Lillian done? She just agreed to a small request, and York and Grace regretted their decision! Lillian! Why does everyone choose Lillian?'
Lillian sent Wendy and Grace's hair to a DNA testing agency.
In the car back to the Frane House, her phone rang.
Lillian took out her phone and saw a Facebook message from Jackson.
Lillian opened it, and it was a transfer of 10 thousand dollars.
Then three more transfers followed, each for the same amount.
The notes under the four transfers together read: [Thank you, my dear wife.]
A total of 40 thousand dollars.
Jackson didn't often use Facebook.
Lillian was a bit taken aback, and then another Facebook message came through.
Jackson: [I heard it's popular to thank wives like this now. I left in a hurry this morning and didn't eat the breakfast you made. I'm sorry.]
Lillian was stunned. This didn't seem like something Jackson would do.
Her mood lightened a bit, and she replied: [Who told you that?]
Jackson, holding his phone, glanced at Terry sitting in the front passenger seat and then typed: [It doesn't matter who said it. Are you still angry, Mrs. Frane?]
Lillian's chuckled.
Lillian: [Let's see how you behave at lunch.]
Jackson replied after a moment: [Arrived at the venue. See you at home for lunch.]
Lillian: [Okay.]
She almost read the few Facebook messages the entire way.
Especially Jackson's last message, which felt like a husband reporting his schedule to his wife.
Lillian kept looking at the messages, thinking she must ask about that at lunch. Maybe there was some misunderstanding.
Lillian returned to the Frane Mansion, and Lyra was watching TV on the couch.
"My big baby and young baby are back. Come here and let me hug you," Lyra smiled and said.
Lillian smiled and sat next to Lyra, asking, "Grandma Lyra, who's the big baby and the young baby?"
"You're the big baby, and Taylor is the young baby," Lyra replied.
