Chapter 386 Teasing
Evelyn was carrying the prepared dishes upstairs when she saw Jackson passionately kissing Lillian, who was sitting on his lap.
Lillian's long hair was flowing softly in Jackson's large hand, creating a warm and tender scene.
Evelyn quickly turned around and stepped back.
She hesitated about whether to go back downstairs when Jackson's deep voice came from the bedroom, instructing her, "Leave the meal outside."
Evelyn hurriedly placed the plate on the hallway's side table and quietly went downstairs.
In the bedroom, Lillian heard Evelyn leaving and then, blushing, pushed Jackson away.
Jackson looked down at her flushed cheeks, gently brushed them with his thumb, and smiled slightly. "Are you happy?"
Her face had been pale for a long time, but now it was finally starting to be flushed.
Lillian glared at Jackson fiercely. She couldn't hide her physiological reaction from him, so she simply nodded and admitted. "Your kissing skills are pretty good. I liked it, but don't kiss me next time."
Jackson sighed and then rubbed his thumb heavily on Lillian's plump, kissed-red lips before going out to bring the food in.
Lillian was indeed hungry. Evelyn's food was light and nutritious, and it smelled delicious.
As soon as Jackson brought the food in, Lillian's stomach reacted to the aroma.
She blushed slightly with embarrassment, and Jackson smiled and said, "Looks like Taylor is hungry and protesting inside your belly."
He said this as he sat down by the bed, intending to feed Lillian.
Lillian refused. "I can do it myself. The doctor only told me to stay in bed. My hands are not injured."
But when she reached for the plate, Jackson didn't give it to her. He used a fork to pick up a bite of spaghetti and insisted on bringing it to her lips, saying, "I'm feeding my daughter. You can't object."
"Who's your daughter!" Lillian said annoyedly.
"Taylor. Who else?" Jackson raised an eyebrow and said.
But when Lillian met Jackson's half-smiling eyes, she felt like he was teasing her.
She was like a daughter who needed his coaxing.
Lillian opened her mouth to eat the spaghetti, rubbed her belly, and asked, "How do you know Taylor is a girl?"
"Then let's have a son, so he can protect you with me. One little princess in our family is enough," Jackson replied.
Lillian pondered, 'What did he mean? Was he implying I'm hard to please?'
She wanted to retort, but before she could, Jackson fed her another bite of spaghetti.
After she was full, Jackson stood up to call Evelyn to come up and clean. Lillian couldn't help but grab his hand and ask, "How did you get this injury?"
The wound on his palm, which he had only wiped the blood off with a wet wipe outside, was no longer bleeding but had an extended cut with some redness and swelling around it, making her feel distressed.
"You actually care about me?" Jackson's voice inexplicably sounded aggrieved to Lillian.
Lillian squeezed his fingers and said, "I'll get the first aid kit and treat it."
Jackson stood up and patted Lillian's head, saying, "You just lie down. I'll take care of it myself later. Knowing you care about me is enough."
Lillian fell silent.
The next day.
Lillian had to stay in bed and rest all day, and Jackson had Terry bring all the work that needed to be handled to the Peace Mansion.
In the afternoon, he came out of the study and had dinner with Lillian.
Emily checked Lillian's health and confirmed she was healthy and could move around, so they went out together.
By the time they arrived at Serenity Haven Manor, it was already evening.
The sky was painted with a sunset glow. Jackson opened the car door and got out. As Lillian was about to follow him, he turned back and bent down to pick her up.
Lillian wrapped her arms around his neck and said embarrassedly, "The doctor said it's okay for me to walk. Put me down."
From last night to today, she felt like her limbs hadn't gotten any exercise, being carried around by him.
It was acceptable to be carried at home, but now they were outside.
