Chapter 208 Anything Else You Want to Say?

He tightened his grip on the phone and said, "No need."

"What do you mean? Are you trying to back out again? Why can't you just agree to divorce? If you do this, I'm starting to doubt if you've fallen in love with me and can't leave me!" Lillian spoke anxiously, not mincing her words.

Jackson's expression momentarily ambiguous. He raised an eyebrow and asked, "If I say I love you and can't leave you, then we won't divorce?"

Lillian's heart thumped, her mind buzzing with Jackson's words.

She stared blankly at Jackson. His sneer and indifferent eyes calmed her down.

No one confessed with such an expression, let alone with such a sarcastic tone.

Moreover, how could Jackson possibly love her and not be able to leave her?

Hadn't the emotional abuse during two years of marriage made her see clearly yet?

Lillian clenched her fists tightly as she said, "This marriage must end."

She stared at Jackson.

On his extraordinarily handsome face, there was no sadness, no sign of rejection, only endless cold sarcasm and indifference.

Jackson lightly tapped his phone with his long fingers, saying, "Of course."

He turned the phone and dialed Terry's number again.

Terry didn't dare not answer Jackson's call.

"Do you need a raise for your performance?" Jackson's voice was low, showing displeasure at Terry's attempt to be clever.

Terry was troubled as he responded quickly, "Mr. Frane, I'll go get it and bring it to you right away."

After hanging up, Jackson glanced at Lillian as if to say, "Don't be too presumptuous and try to guess others' intentions."

Lillian felt a bit embarrassed. She bit her lip and looked out the window.

The car fell into extreme silence until it stopped at the State Court.

Terry hadn't arrived yet, and Aiden probably felt the atmosphere was too heavy, so he left the car first.

Only Lillian and Jackson were in the car. Jackson leaned back in his seat, closing his eyes to rest, while Lillian watched him carefully.

Even apart from love, he was the most important person in her life.

He played too many roles in her life.

He was like her redemption and light. He was her idol and guide. He took care of her like a big brother. Moreover, he was the lover she longed for but could not have.

In the years to come, Lillian knew that even if time healed everything and taught her to love another person, it wouldn't be as unforgettable as loving Jackson.

No one would ever be engraved in her heart as deeply as he was.

It just wouldn't happen.

The thought pierced her heart.

Lillian almost blurted out that she wouldn't divorce.

"Have you seen enough?" Jackson suddenly opened his eyes.

When Jackson turned his head to look at her, Lillian hurriedly blinked away any trace of sadness.

She smiled, "Jackson, your tie is crooked. Let me fix it for you."

She knelt on the seat, leaned over, and grabbed Jackson's tie without hesitation.

Jackson had just loosened the tie and unbuttoned two shirt buttons.

Lillian straightened the tie, carefully adjusted his shirt collar, buttoned the buttons, and then tied the tie.

Jackson looked down at her closely. She was like a woman who adored her husband, soft and docile.

He thought that maybe she wasn't as eager to leave as she seemed, so he held Lillian's wrist, asking in a deep voice, "Lilian, do you have anything else you want to say?"

If she said that she was just messing around, then everything was still in time.
