Chapter 466 Was Proven Right

Lillian chuckled, turned around, and shoved the bank card and property deed into Shirley's arms.

"Take these. You deserve them."

"Really? But didn't you work so hard to pay off Jackson's thirty-million-dollar debt?"

Shirley held the bank card, surprised by Lillian's attitude.

Lillian cut her off, "I was foolish back then. You saved them and got hurt; you deserve this. If you feel uneasy, there's something I need you to do for me."

Lillian had decided to leave and knew she couldn't take Max with her this time. If Jackson abandoned Max in anger after she left, Lillian wanted Shirley to take care of him.

She explained this to Shirley, who was shocked.

"Taking care of Max is no problem, but where are you going? With Taylor on the way, it's tough for you to head off to unfamiliar places alone," Shirley said with concern.

Lillian flashed a faint smile at Shirley.

"I'm not afraid of the effort; it's the emotional toll that worries me."

She was utterly exhausted. Jackson wouldn't let go, relentlessly pushing her, oblivious to her inner turmoil.

Star was constantly on the lookout, and Daisy's gaze always made Lillian feel like a walking blood bank, terrified of what Daisy might do next.

Trapped in this hopeless marriage, Lillian felt suffocated.

Shirley was clearly anxious. When she saw Lillian's tired, pale smile, her eyes welled up. She leaned in and hugged Lillian.

"Alright, if you want to leave, then go. I believe in you. But will Star really help you?"

"She will," Lillian said confidently.

A week later, Lillian's judgment was proven right. After rehearsal at the dance troupe, she got a text from an unknown number.

It was clear and to the point: [Need two weeks to arrange.]

There was no preamble, but Lillian knew exactly who it was and what it meant.

She replied briefly and deleted the message.

Lillian put down her phone and headed to Ambrose's office. He had given her the chance to join the troupe, and she had promised to dance until the baby was born next year before leaving.

Now, she felt sorry and hesitated at the office door. But she had to face her decision.

She gritted her teeth, closed her eyes, and knocked hard.

Unexpectedly, the door opened, and her hand landed heavily on Ambrose's chest.

"What are you doing?" Ambrose's lazy voice came from above her.

Lillian's gaze shot up to see her fingers resting on Ambrose's heart. Her face turned bright red with embarrassment as she instinctively tried to smooth the spot where she'd knocked.

Ambrose grabbed her wrist.

Lillian was mortified, feeling his gaze as if he was looking at a fool.

"I didn't do it on purpose!"

"Did you want to do it on purpose?" Ambrose raised an eyebrow.

Lillian's face turned bright red.

Ambrose let go, and Lillian quickly hid her hand behind her back, pinching her palm hard with the other.
