Chapter 480 Find Her!
Aetherwell was just a two-hour drive from Miracalia.
Several luxury cars sped through the night. Jackson sat in one, making call after call.
His stern profile reflected in the window. Harry, in the passenger seat, stayed silent.
The Thisbe family had carved out a niche for themselves in Aetherwell, and now they were looking to expand their business into the northern regions. However, since this was Jackson's turf, their plans hinged on his approval.
The Thisbe family's reputation was less than pristine, and Jackson had previously turned down any partnership. But now, Harry had heard that Jackson had re-engaged with them.
Jackson was offering concessions, insisting that the Thisbe family must find Lillian in Aetherwell no matter what.
After ending a few urgent calls, Jackson turned to Harry and asked, "Is Shirley at the Price family's soirée?"
"Yes," Harry replied. "Mr. Flores brought Ms. James with him."
Jackson's voice was cold and commanding. "Send more people to keep a close watch on Shirley."
With Lillian missing, if she really did leave on her own, Shirley would definitely have been aware of it beforehand.
Even if Shirley didn't know Lillian's whereabouts, Lillian would have contacted her after the fact.
Given Lillian's condition and Shirley's close relationship with her, it was plausible that Shirley might have left to help Lillian with Taylor.
Therefore, Shirley had to be monitored closely.
"Yes, Mr. Frane. Do you suspect Mrs. Frane left of her own accord?" Harry asked.
At this point, Lillian's disappearance hadn't been fully explained. There was a possibility she was kidnapped, but Jackson's insistence on watching Shirley suggested he believed Lillian left voluntarily.
Jackson shut his eyes, but his mind replayed Lillian's odd behavior over the past few days. She had been unusually docile; just yesterday, she had carefully arranged the flowers he'd given her, and that tender hug she'd given him in the morning.
He had thought that a month had passed, and she would have moved past the unpleasantness of their wedding. He thought his recent presence might have softened her feelings toward him.
But it turned out she had already made up her mind to leave. She had decided to escape, taking their daughter Taylor with her.
Realizing this left Jackson feeling like a gaping wound had been carved into his chest, with a cold blade slicing through his veins, leaving him frozen and in unbearable pain. He was on the brink of madness, overwhelmed by helplessness.
His lips were pale as he muttered, "Is being with me so unbearable that she'd rather disappear into the unknown?"
He thought, 'Is she so desperate to avoid being Mrs. Frane that she'd choose to run away with Taylor?'
Jackson's fury twisted into a chilling, derisive laugh that sent shivers down the spine.
The idea of her vanishing from his world was unacceptable. He had warned her before—he wouldn't allow her to leave him. When he caught her, he'd make sure she faced the consequences.
"Ms. James is quite capable and has a temper, so she might become violent. If Ms. James gets hurt, Mrs. Frane might harbor even more resentment."
Harry sighed, noticing that Jackson had ruled out the possibility of Lillian being kidnapped and was clearly convinced she had left on her own.
Jackson opened his eyes, the cold fury in his gaze unmistakable. "Resentment? She's already resentful. She tricked me and left, claiming she no longer loved me. If that's the case, then let her come back and hate me!"
If hatred could keep her, then he'd bring her back and not let her go.
Harry looked at Jackson's obsessive and crazed demeanor, secretly alarmed.
He didn't dare say more and went to make some calls.
At that moment, Jackson's phone rang continuously. It was Star and Dominic calling.
Jackson hung up twice, and Star called again.
Jackson stared at the screen, his eyes darkening, and answered.
"Jackson, why did you leave so suddenly? You scared the guests. Everyone's talking about it. I fell while chasing you. What happened? I'm so worried about you."
"Don't you know what happened?" Jackson suddenly spoke.
