Chapter 119 Jackson Found Out
Wendy looked into Jackson's eyes, but Jackson didn't take a step forward.
"Then go back and rest early," Jackson said in a low voice before getting into another car, which swiftly drove away under Wendy's gaze.
"Ms. Wendy?" Terry spoke up.
Wendy forced a smile and finally pulled her legs inside the car.
Terry closed the door and went to the driver's seat.
As the car started moving, Wendy said with a smile, "Terry, are you getting married soon? I haven't met your girlfriend yet. When are you going to introduce her to me? I haven't been in the country for these years, and my friends have drifted away. Your girlfriend must be gentle and quiet, easy to get along with."
Terry politely smiled and said, "My girlfriend has social anxiety, and the doctor advised you to rest more and move less."
Wendy fidgeted with her fingers. She tried to pull Terry to her side a few times, but Terry remained indifferent.
Feeling frustrated, Wendy finally pretended to fall asleep and gave up.
Lillian dropped Jeffrey off and asked Nathan to leave, then she took a taxi back by herself.
However, Nathan insisted on going the same way and pulled Lillian into the car.
When they arrived at Central Park West, Lillian got out of the car, and Nathan followed.
"Do you need me to recommend a reliable lawyer and public relations company for the online abuse?" he asked.
As a fan of Lillian, he naturally knew about the incident that was exposed online today, which was still trending.
Lillian was taken aback by his sincere concern and smiled. "Don't you think I'm greedy for asking for thirty million dollars for just one performance?"
Nathan raised an eyebrow and said, "Absolutely not! You are my idol, and you are worth that price. You demonstrate esteem for her by playing your melodies!"
His words were so sincere that Lillian almost believed him.
Sometimes, blind affirmation from fans was overwhelming.
Feeling a bit embarrassed, Lillian waved her hand and said, "No need, I can handle it. You should go back now. Thank you for bringing me here."
As she turned to leave, Nathan raised his voice again. "Lillian, don't you find me familiar at all?"
Lillian felt surprised and puzzled, so she turned back and asked, "Have we met before?"
She was trying to recall when she had seen him before, but she had no impression at all.
Nathan sighed. "Forget it. If you need help, feel free to contact me."
He made a cool hand gesture towards Lillian and got into the car, driving away.
"I will work hard. Goodnight," he said before leaving.
Lillian standing there, and she couldn't figure out what he meant by working hard.
As she turned around, she was startled to find someone standing silently behind her.
"Ah!" Lillian screamed in shock and stepped back.
"Lillian, you are amazing! I haven't seen you for half a day, and you already know a popular star like Nathan?" Shirley grabbed Lillian's arm, her eyes widened with curiosity.
While patting her chest, Lillian said, "You almost scared me to death. What popular star?"
Rolling her eyes, Shirley said, "Do you not have access to the internet? Nathan, the winner of last year's hottest talent show debuted as a top idol. He wasn't even twenty years old last year but already had a considerable fan base. When people talk about popular stars, he's one of the first to come to mind."
Lillian was surprised, and then she realized why Nathan wore a mask and hat at the amusement park, looking as exaggerated as Gray.
So when he said he would work hard, did he think he wasn't famous enough yet?
Lillian smiled helplessly.
"Tell me, what's going on between you two?" Shirley kept pestering Lillian with questions until Jackson's car stopped below the old residential building.
Jackson got out of the car and went into the building.
He went up to the top floor and knocked on the door.
After knocking for a while with no response, he turned around and saw a middle-aged woman peeking from the fifth floor.
Before Jackson could speak, the middle-aged woman said, "You must be looking for the two young girls upstairs. They moved out. A few days ago, one of the girls almost got into trouble. The police came, and the house was sealed for a day. Didn't you know?"
