Chapter 641
Anouk didn't think Flora would put up such a fight. She got so mad she used a bit too much force.
Out of nowhere, Ambrose saw the whole thing, and Flora even called her a bad person!
Anouk couldn't figure out what kind of spell Lillian had cast on Flora. She was Flora's granddaughter, but it seemed like Flora liked Lillian more.
"Anouk, this trip to Miracalia is to get Maxwell to treat Grandpa, not for fun. Grandpa's out, so you should take good care of Grandma."
His tone was a bit stern, and Anouk knew he was ticked off. She swallowed her frustration and said, "I just wanted to take good care of Grandma, so I thought of taking her out with me."
Flora immediately piped up, "No, she pinched me! Ambrose, is she trying to take me out and leave me stranded me on the street?"
Anouk's eyes flared with anger, and she shouted, "Grandma, what are you saying! Before you got sick, you loved me the most. Why are you treating me like this now?"
She looked really hurt, and Flora, like a scolded child, shrank behind Ambrose.
Ambrose had seen the red marks on Flora's arm, which were from being pulled too hard, not pinched.
He looked helpless and said to Anouk, "Anouk, you're a grown-up. Don't you know Grandma's condition? Why are you arguing with her?"
Anouk wiped her tears and looked up.
"Grandma, I'm sorry. If you don't want to go, then forget it. Also, I shouldn't have pulled you just now. Let me see..."
She stepped forward to check Flora's arm, but Flora hid behind Ambrose again.
"Ambrose, I want to go back to my room."
Ambrose supported Flora and replied, "Okay, I'll take you back to your room."
Anouk's eyes flared with anger again at Flora's reaction. Before leaving, Ambrose patted Anouk's head and advised, "Alright, if you want to go out, call some friends. Buy whatever you want."
"Ambrose, will you pay?" Anouk's eyes lit up.
Ambrose raised an eyebrow and replied, "Sure, I'll pay."
"You said it, so I won't hold back," Anouk said playfully with a smile.
As Ambrose pulled his hand back, Anouk let out a sharp cry and clutched her head, realizing that a few strands of her hair had gotten caught in Ambrose's sapphire cufflink.
"That hurts."
She reached out to untangle it, but Ambrose said, "Don't move, I'll do it."
He leaned in close, and Anouk smelled the pleasant mint scent on Ambrose, blushing and staying still.
After a moment, Ambrose stepped back and said, "Alright, go have fun."
Anouk tidied her hair and looked up. "How about you come with me, Ambrose? I don't have many good friends in Miracalia."
Anouk was full of anticipation, but Ambrose shook his head and refused, "I have a lot to do later. Be good."
Anouk huffed and left, feeling dejected.
Ambrose supported Flora as they walked to the room. The hand in his pocket rubbed a few strands of hair.
At that moment, his phone rang. Seeing the caller ID, Ambrose looked surprised.
"Mr. Frane calling me, what an honor." He answered, his voice slightly mocking.
"Lilian is in trouble. I want to ask Flora to come to the Frane Mansion to see her. Is it convenient now?" Jackson's voice was extremely hoarse. If he had any other options, he wouldn't have asked Ambrose for help.
Just three days ago, he had destroyed Ambrose's tracker in his car, and now he had to ask for help.
