Chapter 836

When Dominic called, Lillian and Jackson had already finished breakfast.

Jackson let his phone buzz on the table without picking it up.

Lillian glanced at the screen and then looked up at Jackson. "Dominic's calling about Logan, right? Is he coming to take Logan back? Have you found a good nanny?"

No matter how much Lillian liked Logan, it didn't change the fact that Logan was Wendy's child, a member of the Price family. Logan had to go back eventually, but the thought of sending him back to the Price Villa made Lillian's heart ache with worry.

Jackson reached out and held her hand. "I found a reliable nanny for Logan. She'll be here soon. If you like her, I'll have her take Logan back."

Lillian was surprised at how thorough Jackson had been. Letting her meet the nanny in person would definitely put her at ease. She looked at Jackson quietly, not saying a word for a while.

Just then, Dominic called again. Jackson was about to answer, but seeing Lillian's gaze, he hung up and focused on her. "What's wrong?"

From Jackson's expression and his eyes, Lillian could see how much he cared about her. He noticed even the smallest changes in her mood. This feeling of being cared for and always getting a response filled Lillian's heart with a sweet, heavy warmth.

She shook her head, smiled at Jackson, and then leaned in to kiss him on the lips. "It's nothing. Go ahead and take the call."

Jackson seemed to understand what had touched Lillian. His eyes softened with affection as he ruffled her hair. "Silly girl," he said.

Lillian was already moved by such a small gesture. His Lillian had always had the softest heart. Because of this, Jackson answered Dominic's call with a bit more patience.

"Jackson, Star came back this morning and said you kept Logan at the Peace Mansion? Logan is a Price family child. We can't keep troubling you. I'll send someone to pick him up."

Jackson replied coldly, "Mr. Price, last night Ms. Price said she wanted to stay and take care of Logan, but she kept making noise and almost woke him up several times. This morning, she nearly hit Logan."

Dominic sounded shocked. "How could that be? Star is Logan's aunt. This must be a misunderstanding."

Jackson said sternly, "I hope so. But Logan is not just a Price family child; he's also Henry's child. Before Henry passed away, he entrusted Logan to me. I have a responsibility to ensure he's well taken care of in the Price family."

Dominic sighed. "Jackson, you and Henry were friends for over twenty years. You were there for him until the end. I'm grateful you're willing to look after Logan."

Jackson said, "Alright, I'll find a nanny for Logan. Once I do, I'll send her with Logan back to the Price Villa."

Lillian thought Jackson would secretly place a reliable nanny in the Price Villa, but she didn't expect him to be so straightforward with Dominic. But then she realized that having a nanny openly there would make the Price family more cautious, ensuring better care for Logan.

"Jackson, if you're willing to go to such lengths, that's wonderful. Take your time finding the right nanny. I'm relieved knowing Logan is with you."

Dominic agreed readily.

Jackson hung up and looked at Lillian, who was still holding Logan. "Logan will stay at the Peace Mansion for a few days. Will you stay to take care of him?"

Lillian hesitated. If Jackson had asked her this yesterday, she would have firmly refused. But after spending the night caring for Logan and waking up to his soft presence, she felt a new bond and responsibility. But moving back into the Peace Mansion so soon? That was too fast. Oberon might be furious, and there was also Shirley to consider.

Seeing her hesitation, Jackson stepped forward to take Logan from her arms. "It's okay. I understand your concerns. The nanny will be here soon. Logan will be taken care of. You can leave whenever you want. If you want to see Logan or me, just call, and I'll come get you."

Jackson's words made him sound like a stay-at-home parent, which Lillian found a bit over the top.

Logan, in Jackson's arms, pouted and clung to Lillian's neck, not wanting to let go. Logan kept calling out to Lillian, as if asking her to stay.

Lillian was torn. "What if Logan doesn't like the new nanny? What if they don't get along?"

Seeing her wavering, Jackson said, "Last night was difficult because of Star. If you stay, I can move to the guest room."

Lillian, already wavering, felt her resolve weaken further. Logan wiggled in her arms, and she finally nodded.

Jackson's eyes gleamed with satisfaction. He looked at Logan and found him even more adorable.

The nanny Jackson found arrived quickly. She was a cheerful, slightly plump woman in her forties named Mireille. She was great with kids and soon had Logan laughing.

Logan clearly didn't mind her, but he still refused to let her hold him at first. After playing with Lillian for an hour or two, Logan finally let Mireille hold him.

"Logan is very smart for his age," Mireille remarked. Lillian thought back to how Logan had trusted her from the start.
