Chapter 627

Star said, "Yeah, so what?"

Lillian's body went stiff, her heart burning with pure rage. She mustered every ounce of strength to break free from the bodyguard's grip and latched onto Star's neck.

Star didn't see that coming. She struggled but got yanked to the ground by Lillian.

Star had been choked out by Jackson before, and that familiar near-death feeling hit her hard.

Her eyes rolled back, almost passing out.

But then the bodyguards yanked Lillian away, twisting her arms.

Star was on her knees, coughing like crazy. Her eyes were red and bulging from the choke, glaring at Lillian as she rasped out to the bodyguards, "What are you waiting for? Hit her!"

The bodyguard didn't hesitate, slapping Lillian hard.

Lillian, already worn out, rolled twice on the ground, ending up in a heap by the coffee table, not moving.

That was when Dominic came down from upstairs, his eyes locked on Lillian.

He plopped down on the sofa, sneering, "Ms. Young, remember this place? Right here, you all drove my wife to her death! What you're going through now is karma."

Star had caught her breath. She stood up and kicked Lillian a couple of times.

"Lillian, you were pregnant back then and still didn't know how to be decent. Now that the kid's gone, it's your payback!"

Lillian felt completely drained, her head spinning.

Their voices seemed distant, filled with hate.

They wanted her and Taylor dead to avenge Susan.

But Susan had tried to kill them first; she got what she deserved!

Lillian felt a deep pain. Her enemies were right there, but she couldn't do anything.

In despair, Lillian thought, 'Taylor, I'm sorry, I'm so useless. I couldn't protect you, couldn't avenge you.'Lillian slowly closed her eyes, feeling the hits and kicks, but the pain was fading.

Just as she was about to black out, she heard a familiar, urgent shout.

"Lillian!"

Jackson's tall figure burst in. Seeing the scene in the living room, he felt a sharp pain.

Lillian lay on the ground, looking like she was about to die, utterly alone.

The living room was packed with bodyguards and servants, who had clearly done a number on Lillian.

Star, seeing Jackson rush in, was about to kick Lillian again but then clutched her forehead, collapsing weakly onto a servant.

She cried out, "Jackson, Lillian tried to run me over with a car! She wants to kill me!"

But Jackson didn't even glance at her. He strode forward, knelt on one knee, and gently lifted Lillian, letting her lean into his arms.

"Lillian!"

Lillian was drenched in cold sweat, like she'd been pulled from water.

Her body was limp, her face as pale as a ghost, making the red, swollen handprint on her cheek and the blood at the corner of her mouth stand out even more.

Her eyes were barely open, either too weak to open them fully or just not caring enough to see him.

Jackson's arm around Lillian trembled slightly, his whole vibe radiating a chilling pressure. He raised his sharp eyes.

"Who hit her?"

One of the black-clad bodyguards nearby took an involuntary step back.

With just that tiny movement, Jackson zeroed in on him.

With a cold, deadly look, Harry stepped forward, moving like lightning.

The sound of bones breaking and screams followed almost immediately.

No one saw how Harry moved, but the bodyguard let out a scream, his arm broken, kneeling on the ground.
