Chapter 180 "Lillian, You Wait"
Rose rushed to comfort Wendy, "Alright, stay calm. Do you still want your face to recover? I'll quickly handle the negative voices online. If you had spent more time practicing the piano before, it wouldn't have turned out like this."
"Do you also think I'm not as good as her?"
Wendy pushed Rose away, her swollen face contorted.
Rose hurriedly tried to calm her down, and Wendy reluctantly quieted down, but there was a hint of gloom in her eyes.
Wendy said, "Lillian, you've done this to me. I won't easily let you off! You wait!"
The online situation turned around, and Lillian finished playing the piece before ending the live stream.
Coincidentally, Nathan called at that moment, and Lillian answered.
Nathan asked, "Lillian, I just sent you gifts in the live stream room. Did you see them?"
Lillian was taken aback. She had been focused on playing the piano and hadn't noticed any gifts. She looked at Shirley, who was still replying to Facebook messages on her laptop.
Lillian asked, "Shirley, were there gifts in the live stream room just now?"
Shirley replied, "Of course, quite a lot."
Lillian raised an eyebrow and smiled. "Please thank everyone for me and post on Facebook that all the gifts received during this live stream will be used for charity."
Shirley gave an "okay" gesture, and Lillian said to Nathan. "Thank you for the gifts."
Nathan chuckled. "Lillian, the company has agreed to your application. The director wants you to come directly for an interview. Can you make it by ten o'clock?"
Lillian checked her watch and said, "Of course."
Nathan said, "I'll come pick you up."
"No need. I'm getting ready to leave now. I'll meet the agency later."
After hanging up, Lillian grabbed her bag and left.
Shirley, holding her laptop, watched Lillian leave and said, "Lillian, when you are focused on your career, you are the best. Keep it up."
Lillian waved to her and left, closing the door behind her.
Lillian's interview went smoothly, and she signed a contract with Nathan's company. She became the dance instructor for SV and moved into the dormitory arranged by the agency immediately.
In the following week, Lillian was busy and didn't see Jackson and Wendy.
It was as if they had exited her life, giving Lillian a rare sense of peace and fulfillment.
That night, she and Nathan finalized a song's choreography. They had been practicing for a long time, so they decided to go out for dinner to relax.
Even though Lillian was eating more due to her pregnancy, she couldn't match the appetites of the big boys. After eating her fill, she told Nathan and the others and left the private room.
The restaurant had a special design. As Lillian passed by another private room, the door happened to open, and a waiter walked out.
Lillian glanced over and froze in her tracks.
She knew all five of the people who sat around the table in the private room.
Jackson and Wendy sat together, with Wendy's parents beside them, and Daisy and Wendy served food to Jackson.
Meanwhile, Daisy and Grace were engaged in a lively conversation, both wearing smiles.
York raised his glass to invite Jackson. Jackson's slender fingers landed on the glass in front of him, seemingly about to have a drink with his future father-in-law, York.
The atmosphere was harmonious, and the meeting of the parents seemed pleasant.
Lillian's steps paused briefly, but she quickly averted her gaze and continued walking towards the restroom.
Little did she know that as soon as she entered the stall, she could hear Wendy and Grace's voices outside.
Grace asked, "Wendy, how are you feeling? Are you feeling better?"
Wendy replied, "I'm fine. I just suddenly smelled a fishy odor and felt nauseous."
Grace said, "The fishy smell can trigger morning sickness. It was careless of me to order that fish dish. It's also Jackson's fault for insisting that you love fish!"
Wendy said, "Mom! Don't blame Jackson. I said I wanted to eat fish, and he helped me order it."
Grace said, "You haven't even gotten married yet, and you're already leaning toward Jackson. It seems I need to discuss the engagement date with Daisy later. Maybe we can move it up a few days since you can't wait to get married."
Wendy said, "Mom, please stop. Let's go back soon; the baby feels hungry."
Wendy's shy voice echoed, and Lillian stood there motionless for a while.
It turned out that Jackson and Wendy were inviting their parents today to discuss engagement matters and wedding dates.
