Chapter 402 Fireworks

The car pulled up outside the amusement park.

Lillian was about to step out, but Jackson scooped her up.

"Jackson, I can walk on my own. You're still hurt," she protested.

He smiled down at her. "I'm almost healed. Don't worry."

Lillian frowned. The park was huge. If Jackson kept carrying her, he might reopen his wounds.

But she soon realized her mistake.

A staff member drove up in a small cart, and Jackson set her down in it.

Inside the park, Lillian looked around anxiously. "Are you sure Jeffrey's here? It's so empty today. Where could he be hiding?"

Jackson tapped his fingers on the steering wheel. "It's a weekday. Not many people around. Let's look around. I've got Harry checking the surveillance."

Lillian nodded but couldn't shake the uneasy feeling. 'It's not the weekend, but the park is too empty. Is it going bankrupt? Would Jeffrey be scared in such a deserted place?'

Jackson stopped the cart. "The square's up ahead. We spent a lot of time there last time. Let's start looking there."

Lillian agreed and hopped out. Jackson took her hand as they walked toward the square. Suddenly, loud bangs echoed in the sky.

Lillian looked up to see colorful fireworks lighting up the night, like flowers blooming in the darkness.

She was momentarily stunned, remembering the drone show they had watched here last time. Back then, she thought Jackson was confessing to Wendy, and it upset her.

Even though she knew it was a misunderstanding now, the memory still stung.

The fireworks grew more brilliant, filling the sky with a grand display.

"Beautiful, isn't it? Romantic?" Jackson's voice broke her thoughts.

Lillian turned to him. His charming face looked even more striking under the fireworks, every eyelash perfectly fitting her aesthetic.

The fireworks added a softness to him, almost making her heart race.

'These fireworks aren't for me. Why am I getting romantic thoughts?' Lillian thought and smiled. "Not romantic at all. Let's find Jeffrey!"

She started to move, but Jackson held her back. "Let's watch for a bit. It's beautiful. Maybe Jeffrey will come to see."

Lillian considered and agreed.

Jackson, persistent, asked again, "Really not romantic?"

Lillian felt his focus was off. "Probably some fool spending money to propose."

"Fool?" Jackson's lips twitched.

"Yeah. Fireworks are expensive. It's foolish to spend so much on something that lasts a moment." Lillian nodded.

She thought Wendy, who had arranged the last fireworks show, was the biggest fool.

Jackson was silent, thinking, 'Can I cancel the plan now?'

But it was too late. The fireworks scattered, and 520 drones with white lights ascended, forming a dynamic gardenia flower in the sky.

Lillian recognized the flower. It matched her earring, a custom design by the famous jewelry designer, Vincent, just for her.

It represented Lillian, unique and special.

Jackson had hoped for a different reaction, but now he was frustrated.

Lillian was stunned, watching the gardenia bloom in the sky, its white petals turning brilliant colors, layer by layer.

Then, in an instant, it scattered and formed a string of English characters.
