Chapter 185 Jackson Threw Away the Wedding Ring

Jackson had always been reluctant to wear the ring before. But now, their marriage had come to an end, and he seemed inseparable from the wedding ring.

As Lillian thought back to the time Jackson had been staying in their house, she couldn't help but feel expectant.

Jackson suddenly withdrew his hand, gave her a cold look, and said, "Don't overthink it. I just forgot to take it off."

Lillian's expectations froze instantly at his words.

She forced a stiff smile and said, "Let me help you take it off then."

As she reached for Jackson's hand, he furrowed his brows and said, "I'm driving. Please don't disturb me."

Lillian looked at his cold profile, suddenly recalling the scene when Jackson first put on the wedding ring.

It had been over three months since they got their marriage certificate. He had just returned from abroad. When he was in the study at night, she excitedly went to him with the ring in hand.

"Jackson, guess what I have here?"

With her hands behind her back, she held the ring box.

Jackson's gaze was on the documents as he coldly replied, "I don't know."

Lillian walked up to him and said, "Just take a guess."

Jackson frowned. "Lillian, I'm busy. Please leave."

"Alright." Lillian felt a bit hurt but didn't want to leave, so she knelt beside him, put on a stubborn face, and took out what she had hidden.

"Silly, it's our wedding ring. Let me put it on for you to see if it fits, okay?"

She opened the exquisite box, took out the ring, and tried to put it on Jackson's hand.

Jackson suddenly raised his hand and said in a deep voice, "I have a video conference. Please leave immediately."

Feeling wronged and embarrassed, Lillian held onto his leg, stubbornly insisting. "I'll leave once you wear it. Otherwise, I'll stay here tonight, and you won't be able to have your video conference!"

Jackson perhaps had been annoyed by her persistence, so he let her put the ring on him.

She became delighted, quickly kissed Jackson's cheek, and then hurried out of the study.

That night, Lillian lay in bed, staring at her wedding ring on her hand, smiling foolishly. She even had a sweet dream where they helped each other put on the rings at the wedding ceremony, solemnly reciting their marriage vows.

However, she found Jackson removed the ring again the next morning. It was only when he went to see Lyra at the Frane Mansion that he would wear it.

Lillian was passionate and brave then. Even when Jackson refused, she kept insisting that he wear the ring.

But now, she had been completely disappointed. It took her a lot of courage just to ask him why he still wore the ring.

She didn't want to see him wearing that ring anymore.

Lillian stared at Jackson stubbornly and said, "I'll do it quickly. I promise it won't delay your driving. Besides, I was the one who forced you to wear this ring before. Now, I'll personally take it off, marking a complete end."

At that moment, they reached a traffic light.

Jackson stopped the car, and Lillian smiled.

"It seems like it's fate," she said as she reached for Jackson's hand, but he avoided it.

Lillian was slightly stunned, looking at him in surprise.

Jackson also stared at her, asking, "Do you really not want me to wear it?"

Lillian shook her head, and a hint of irritation flashed in Jackson's deep eyes. He chuckled lightly, "Alright."

He took off the ring himself, then rolled down the car window, turned around, and forcefully threw the ring out.
