Chapter 216 Debunking

The live stream continued.

In the hospital room, Lillian pulled Shirley aside, anxiously examining her head.

"Shirley, are you okay?" Lillian asked.

"I'm fine. They are just eggs, not stones. It's a prank... The eggs are stinky!"

Shirley touched the egg liquid, smelled the stench, and almost gagged.

Lillian's expression changed suddenly, and she felt that something was terribly wrong.

How did Mary find out about her plans to go abroad and manage to block her at the hospital so quickly?

Moreover, if these people weren't intentional, how did they coincidentally have stinky eggs in hand?

Even the medical staff trying to maintain order were blocked by the crowd and couldn't get through.

Lillian glanced sharply at the door, her gaze fixed on one tall man among them.

While others were filming with their phones, this man was using a live-streaming rig.

In that instant, Mary approached with a sorrowful expression. She grasped Lillian's hand, obstructed her view, and exclaimed, "Lilian, you are my child. You can't just leave me like this. If you go, I will call the police.”

Lillian forcefully pulled her hand back from Mary's grip and said loudly, "Alright, let the police come and determine how much alimony I should pay and whether I can take Max away."

Lillian then turned to Shirley and whispered, "It seems like someone is live streaming."

Shirley quickly assessed the situation and pushed Heroic and Mia aside. She made her way to the door and addressed the crowd, exclaiming, "You've all been misled. Mary is not a good mother! My friend, Lillian, and her brother, Max, grew up hungry and endured abuse. Max became incapacitated after a car accident, and Lillian has been shouldering his medical expenses and caring for him for over a year. However, Mary is only concerned about money and hasn't visited the hospital even once a month! Now that she's heard Lillian intends to take Max abroad, she's worried about losing future financial support. That's why she enlisted her brother, Heroic, and his wife, Mia, to cause trouble. They demanded five million from Lillian, which is not alimony but extortion! If you doubt me, ask the nurses!”

Upon hearing Shirley's words, a family member from a nearby ward spoke up, "That's true. I'm a patient's family member from the next room, and I often see Lillian visiting Max."

"I saw her last time when I paid the bill, but her mother, Mary, didn't seem familiar."

The man who was live streaming quickly realized the situation was escalating and rushed to end the live stream in an attempt to escape.

Shirley pushed through the crowd, grabbed the man's shoulder, pulled him into the room, pressed him against the wall, and took his phone.

Unfortunately, the live stream had already been shut down.

"What are you doing? Give me back my phone!" the man exclaimed in a panic.

Shirley elbowed him directly in the chest, making him grunt in pain and unable to grab the phone again.

She released her grip, and the man, clutching his chest in pain, sank to the floor. She sneered, "If you enjoy live streaming so much, why hurry to end it? I'll take over for you." With that, she reopened the live stream.

The audience was really getting into it. The live stream suddenly shut down, so they haven't left yet.

Shirley pointed the camera at the chest badge of the head nurse behind.

Shirley said, "Head Nurse, please speak."

The nurse explained, "The patient in bed 23 has been consistently looked after by Lillian. She visits every two to three days. I haven't seen Mary often, and today is the first time I've seen Heroic and Mia.”

"The patient is very weak and requires absolute rest! If you keep causing a commotion here, and anything happens to the patient, can you bear the consequences?"

At that moment, a tall figure strode over quickly and spoke sternly to the noisy crowd.
