Chapter 233 Never Seen Such an Evil Pregnant Woman
Lillian held her breath, grasped Shirley's hand, and pulled her behind her.
"Mr. Frane, you are so imposing. Should we apologize to the esteemed Ms. Sivan?" Lillian mocked.
Jackson was wearing a black mask that obscured his expression, but his handsome face beneath the mask was visibly strained.
Before he could speak, Wendy waved her hand. "Lillian, Jackson is just too concerned about the baby in my belly. The baby is innocent. Even if you and Shirley don't like me, you shouldn't involve the unborn baby."
"If you truly cared for the child, you wouldn't be engaging in misdeeds while pregnant. You should know that the child in your belly is connected to your dirty heart. He is observing and learning from you!" Lillian interrupted Wendy.
Lillian had never seen such an evil pregnant woman before.
Shirley nodded in agreement. "You don't accumulate virtue yourself; why are you pretending to be worrying about your baby now? You always talk about the baby. Do you want everyone around the world to know you're pregnant?"
They took turns criticizing. Wendy looked bewildered, tears streaming down her face, swaying and leaning towards Jackson.
She knew Jackson wouldn't let her fall to the ground.
Indeed, Jackson reached out and supported Wendy.
"Jackson," Wendy murmured. She closed her eyes and leaned into Jackson's arms.
Jackson furrowed his brows, supporting her, and glanced towards the car.
Aiden was coming to take Wendy, but Lillian had left.
A taxi happened to pull up. She grabbed Shirley and left.
"Put her in the car," Jackson instructed Aiden.
Aiden approached, and Jackson pushed the unconscious Shirley toward him. He turned to go after Lillian but saw that she had already gotten into the taxi, which drove off.
Jackson took a few steps in pursuit, but Lillian clearly didn't want to engage with him further, raising the window and not looking back.
As he thought of her words, her plea for him to be a good ex-husband, he looked at Lillian melancholy and stopped in his tracks.
Meanwhile, in the car, Shirley, still annoyed, cursed, "Jackson is getting better at pretending, even wearing a mask! Does he think the mask can hide his despicable nature? And Wendy fainted right on time! Besides pretending to faint, can she do anything else? Can't Jackson see through this? Lillian, you shouldn't have stopped me. Let me spit in her face and see if Wendy can still keep up the act!"
Shirley was still fuming. Lillian rolled up the window, a mocking smile playing on her lips.
Jackson might not have been oblivious to Wendy's actions, but he cared for her. Even if he knew, he was willing to be deceived.
Lillian smiled and said, "Spitting in her face would waste your noble saliva. We should quickly find a pharmacy to treat your wound. Don't let it scar."
Shirley shrugged and said, "It's okay to have scars."
Lillian nudged her and said, "You practiced martial arts and got into film school. You shouldn't be a stunt double for life. Your goal is in front of the big screen! I'm still waiting for you to become a big star. Have you seen any female stars with scars?"
"Exactly. Will this scratch leave a scar? If it does, I'll curse Wendy every time I sleep," Shirley said.
"Wendy is set on entering the entertainment industry. If you strive to surpass her, to become more famous and popular than her, that will be our revenge," Lillian said.
Lillian cheered Shirley on, and Shirley strongly concurred, feeling that she still had a long way to go. She said, "There's actually an opportunity recently. A supporting role in Celestial Warriors had an issue, and Amelia said she'd recommend me to the director..."
Jackson watched their car drive away, then walked back to his car.
Aiden had already laid Wendy in the back seat, opening the door for Jackson.
Instead of getting in, Jackson gazed down at Wendy lying there and instructed Aiden, "Take Wendy back to the Sivan Family. Tell York to find out about the later investment funds himself."
