Chapter 30 The Bad Man and the Despicable Woman

No wonder a single Facebook post from Rose could get Jackson to leave in the rain at midnight; turned out Wendy was pregnant.

Jackson even gave Wendy the Frane family’s heirloom bracelet, acknowledging her as his wife in his heart.

"If you want to be his lover, that's your choice," Lillian said.

"Lillian, aren't you about to get a divorce? Isn't it ridiculous for you to say that?"

Lillian abruptly stopped and turned to Wendy. "You said 'about to,' which means it hasn't happened yet. As long as we're not divorced, I'm still Mrs. Frane. It's not your place, as his lover, to mock me."

Lillian then slapped Wendy. It seemed light, but Wendy suddenly let out a sharp scream and fell to the side.

"Lillian! What are you doing?" Jackson shouted.

Lillian looked up to see Jackson approaching quickly.

In a sharp suit, Jackson exuded elegance and composure. He was carrying a food box.

Early in the morning, he actually went to buy breakfast for Wendy.

"How could you hit someone like that? Do you know you hit a pregnant woman!"

Wendy lay on the ground, holding her stomach, looking like she couldn't get up. Rose supported her.

The commotion had attracted a crowd, pointing and whispering at Lillian.

Jackson had almost reached them, his expression cold and stern as he stared at Lillian. "What's going on?"

Lillian stiffened her neck. "I didn't hit her, let alone push her!"

"Then she fell over from the wind?" Jackson frowned.

At that moment, Wendy, supported by Rose, stood up, looking pained. She tugged at Jackson's sleeve. "Jackson, don't blame Lillian. My recent poor appetite has led me to skip meals, leaving me unsteady due to low blood sugar." Yet her expression of grievance and endurance didn't quite match the situation.

Lillian said, "You heard her. She couldn't stand steadily herself, so can I leave now?"

Her firmness only made Wendy appear more fragile and innocent.

Jackson grabbed Lillian's wrist, angrily demanding, "Apologize."

Wendy, with a hint of satisfaction in her eyes, spoke urgently, "I'm fine. Just apologize casually so Jackson won't be angry."

Lillian stared at Jackson. He actually wanted her to apologize to Wendy?

"Apologize? Sure." Lillian smiled, then suddenly raised her hand and slapped Wendy across the face.

A loud slap echoed, causing gasps around them.

Wendy was stunned by the hit, then she covered her face and cried out, moving towards Jackson. "Jackson!"

Lillian raised her hand again, aiming another slap at Jackson's face.

But her wrist was grabbed by Jackson, his face turning grim as he stared at Lillian.

"Apologize! Don't make me say it a third time!" Jackson paid no attention to Wendy, letting her cling to him.

However, this scene was a blow to Lillian. Her husband, protecting his lover and laying hands on her. She forcefully pulled her hand back from Jackson's grip, her eyes reddening. "Take a good look at both Wendy's faces. Next time when you slander someone, at least you won’t be so foolish!"

Wendy, leaning against Jackson, stiffened, instinctively covering her face.
