Chapter 161 "Baby, I'm Sorry I Didn't Protect You."

Jackson had indeed seen Lillian, and it was obvious that something was wrong with her.

Lillian was wearing a thin dance costume and was barefoot. She held a phone and ran out in a panic with her pale face.

She sat there, hugging her knees confusedly.

Jackson thought of Anna saying she left for no reason and then saw her current disheveled appearance so he could guess what had happened.

'It turns out she wasn't here to translate,' Jackson thought.

"Mr. Frane, should I go ask Mrs. Frane what happened?" Terry cautiously asked as he saw Jackson remained seated.

Jackson held the door handle and kept silent with his brows furrowed.

Just when Terry thought Jackson was about to get out of the car, a black Maybach stopped in front of Lillian.

A tall man got out of the driver's seat and hurried over to Lillian.

Barry asked, "Lilian, why are you squatting here alone?"

Lillian looked up and saw Barry. "Barry?"

Barry didn't ask much. He took off his coat, draped it over Lillian, and helped her up.

Wrapped in the coat, Lillian felt a glimmer of hope.

"I messed up the interview with Alice. Can you take me to the airport?" she asked.

Barry immediately nodded. "Get in the car."

As they got in, the car turned around and sped off.

"Drive," Jackson coldly withdrew his gaze, ordering.

Terry was anxious as he asked, "Should I chase after that car and bring Mrs. Frane back?"

Jackson smirked and looked at Terry, asking, "Do you find that amusing?"

Terry fell silent.

As Terry watched Jackson's indifferent demeanor, he thought to himself, 'If he's not worried, why should I be?'

"Drive!" Jackson ordered again.

Terry drove off, feeling very uneasy.

Jackson's reaction to Lillian's situation seemed a little too ordinary.

However, the calmer and more ordinary he appeared, the more oppressive it felt.

This feeling was like a deep-sea storm: the more it was suppressed, the more violent the eruption, which unnerved people.

Meanwhile, in Barry's car.

"Don't worry for now. Maybe Alice and the others are still at the airport. We might make it in time," Barry comforted Lillian.

He had arranged this opportunity for Lillian and knew how much she valued it.

"What exactly happened?" Barry asked.

"Someone sneaked into my room and tampered with the water in my cup. I drank it and passed out completely. When I woke up, I had missed everything!" Lilian said miserably.

Lillian was sure she didn't just fall asleep from exhaustion.

Even now, her head felt heavy.

"Do you know who did it?" Barry's eyes flashed with coldness.

Lillian's expression was cold as she said, "I usually only drink water I bring myself before going on stage. She put something in my cup, clearly aware of this habit of mine. I was careless."

She should have been more cautious when she saw Wendy, but Wendy dared to let someone sneak into her room and cause trouble, acting so audaciously, which Lillian hadn't expected.

Barry was worried and asked, "How do you feel? While the opportunity is rare, missing it isn't a big deal. There will be other chances in the future. Let's go to the hospital first!"

Lillian shook her head hurriedly, saying, "I'm fine. Let's go to the airport! Maybe I can still see Alice. Even if she cancels the interview, I need to explain."

Even though she went to the hospital now, it would be futile.

Barry sighed and increased the speed when he saw Lillian's determination.

Lillian opened the car fridge, took out a bottle of water, and started drinking heavily.

She looked out the window, and her tears uncontrollably streamed down. Her whole body trembled slightly with worry.

She needed to drink more water to speed up her metabolism, which would decrease the effects of the medication on the baby.

'Baby, I'm sorry I didn't protect you,' Lillian thought.
