Chapter 321 Study Abroad
Lillian was genuinely happy for Kevin, not just because she had a good relationship with him, but also because, like Kevin, she had a heart that chased dreams.
Seeing Kevin achieve his dreams was a joyful thing for her.
Lillian picked up the water basin and unconsciously hummed a song as she went to the bathroom.
She didn't notice that Jackson, lying on the hospital bed, had a very cold expression on his face.
Jackson withdrew his gaze from Lillian's cheerful back and closed his eyes.
Some past events began to surface in his mind.
Since Lillian came to the Frane family, she had been well-behaved and followed the rules, but she was different with Kevin.
When they were kids, she even secretly fought with Kevin. They often argued, looking like bickering but caring enemies.
In front of Kevin, she completely showed the lively side typical of her age, but in front of him, she was too obedient and sensible.
The first time Lillian got drunk, it was with Kevin, and she even called out his name in her dreams after coming back.
Her first night of not returning home was when Kevin took her to the seaside to watch the stars.
At Lillian's college graduation ceremony, Jackson was severely injured abroad but still rushed over.
However, he saw that Kevin lifted Lillian, who was wearing her graduation gown, on campus, and let her sit on his shoulder, never wanting to let her go.
Lillian pulled Kevin's hair in fright and said shyly, "Alright. I like you, okay? Kevin, you're so boring!"
Kevin, however, held her legs and spun around a few times.
Under the camphor tree in the sunlight, there was Kevin's hearty laughter and Lillian's joyful screams.
Moreover, there was a diary filled with Lillian's thoughts in Jackson's office drawer.
The funny thing was that Jackson wasn't the main character in the story, but he remembered every page by heart.
Jackson unconsciously clenched his fists. If it weren't for that night four years ago with him, maybe Lillian and Kevin would have been together by now.
"Jackson, are you asleep?" Lillian's voice suddenly rang out, and Jackson abruptly opened his eyes.
For a moment, Lillian felt that Jackson's eyes were bloodshot, as if suppressing some surging emotions.
But in the blink of an eye, his expression returned to normal.
"What's up?" Jackson asked calmly.
Lillian had been thinking about Kevin's plan to set up a racing base in the bathroom, and naturally, she also thought about her plans to study abroad.
She realized she hadn't discussed this with Jackson yet and was a bit impatient. She said, "I didn't want to give up my opportunity to study abroad. This year, Alice is busy with her global tour and can't teach at the school. By the time Taylor is born, I can start classes, so I want to go abroad next year."
Jackson frowned slightly and said, "Taylor is too young and needs your care. Let's reconsider studying abroad in a few years."
If Lillian went abroad to study, they would inevitably spend less time together.
Last time they spent less time together, he missed the most important moments of her youth, allowing Kevin to occupy her heart.
This time, their marriage had finally seen some changes, and they had a baby. Jackson didn't want any more problems.
He knew Lillian loved dancing, and there were many opportunities for her development in the country. He could help her join any major dance troupe she wanted to join.
In three or four years, their relationship would be stable, and Taylor would be a bit older. If she still wanted to study abroad at that time, she would be able to do so.
Lillian was only 22, and her dance career was still far ahead. Jackson felt there was no need to rush.
Besides, when she had just given birth to Taylor, her body needed time to recover.
Lillian was stunned, thinking, 'How can I wait a few more years? Jackson could fully support Wendy and Kevin, but why does he always deny me? In his heart, Am I only fit to be his accessory? Or is Taylor the most important thing? Do my career dreams and happiness not matter?'
Lillian didn't want to be seen as an accessory or the pitiful girl from the Frane family anymore in everyone's eyes in Miracalia.
She had to have her stage and path.
"Jackson..." Lillian still wanted to argue and discuss this topic with him, but Jackson no longer wanted to talk about it.
He picked up the phone on the table, opened a report, and handed it to Lillian.
He said to Lillian, "Haven't you been asking whose child Wendy's is? This is the paternity test. See for yourself."
