Chapter 235 So Protective of Lillian
Another lady said, "Now that Mr. Frane is back to being single, it's fine. Mrs. Frane, My daughter will be graduated from the Ivy League this year and come back. If she can accompany you for a cup of tea..."
"Let's talk about that later. That's no rush." Daisy's confident voice rang out.
Jackson was extremely composed, taking steps toward the reception room.
"Why wouldn't you be worried? Mr. Jackson Frane is almost 30. Lillian has been married to Jackson for two years and still hasn't any children." In the living room, three ladies were arranging flowers with Daisy, and Nancy Cole was speaking.
Before she could finish her sentence, Nancy casually looked up and saw Jackson standing at the door.
Because of wearing a black mask, his expression was unclear, which made him appear even more stern and intimidating.
Nancy was startled, pricking her finger on a rose thorn, blood oozing out.
Her face turned pale, and she awkwardly smiled. "Mr. Frane."
Daisy turned her head and was also surprised to see Jackson standing there. She quickly put down the embroidery flower in her hand, stood up, and smiled. "Jackson, why are you back? I was just discussing your marriage with a few of my friends. They all care about you..."
Jackson interrupted Daisy before she could finish her sentence.
His eyes were sharp toward Nancy as he said coldly, "Mrs. Cole, is having a child really that important? No wonder Mr. Cole and you have eighteen children. I'm curious about how many of these children are yours."
Nancy's husband, Brian, was quite promiscuous, with illegitimate children everywhere, but Nancy only had one daughter.
Jackson's words hit a sore spot for Nancy, and her face turned blushed.
Nancy opened her mouth but dared not say a word under Jackson's cold gaze.
However, Nancy felt puzzled. Last month, she only knew Brian had thirteen illegitimate children. How did it suddenly become eighteen?
He had actually hidden some.
Thinking this, Nancy grabbed her bag and left in embarrassment to find out the truth.
Jackson's gaze then turned to the other two ladies.
"Mrs. Hart, no matter how bad my wife might be, she is still better than your adulterous daughter-in-law," Jackson said.
It was discovered last year that Marry Hart's grandson was not a member of the Hart family. The Harts tightly concealed this scandal, and the child was sent abroad.
Marry thought, 'How did Jackson know this?'
Marry's face turned extremely ugly, and before she could say anything, Jackson's gaze shifted to Lisa Walsh.
Lisa immediately forced a smile and obediently said, "Mr. Jackson Frane, I'm sorry for my misunderstanding. I'll leave now." She grabbed her bag and left with her head down.
Seeing this, Marry followed suit.
Within a minute, only Daisy remained in the living room, with a stiff expression on her face.
Daisy held her chest, her vision darkening. She stared at Jackson and shouted, "These are all my guests! Jackson, did you come back just to provoke me?"
Jackson didn't leave her any dignity, which made Daisy unable to face the other ladies in her social circle.
Jackson coldly looked at the awkward Daisy and asked, "Have you ever given me any face?"
"I haven't..." Daisy retorted furiously but was coldly interrupted by Jackson.
"Remember, Lillian and I, as husband and wife, are one. Not only did you not give me any face, but you trampled on the Frane family's reputation!" Jackson's voice was deep, his tone stern.
Under his furious demeanor, Daisy felt a mix of anger, sadness, and a hint of shame.
She never expected that even as Jackson was divorcing Lillian, he would be still so protective of her.
