Chapter 513 Return
Jackson was stunned.
He gaped at Lillian's swollen belly, then touched the spot where he'd been kicked.
The kick wasn't strong—it was just a fetus kicking through the belly.
But Jackson felt deeply shaken, his heart pounding.
He looked up, eyes intense, lips curling into a smile as he spoke in a raspy voice.
"No wonder you're my kid, impressive!"
Lillian stayed silent.
Taylor was already annoyed with him, couldn't he tell?
No.
Instead, Jackson embraced Lillian, his face close to hers, whispering to Taylor, "Taylor, do you miss me? Give me another kick."
Taylor stayed quiet, showing Jackson was being overly sentimental.
But Jackson was persistent, gently poking Lillian's belly.
Lillian gazed at his thick hair, sensing caution and anticipation in his moves, feeling an urge to cry.
They seemed like a sweet couple eagerly awaiting their baby.
But it was just an illusion.
Jackson's poking stopped, his hand sliding down to Lillian's thigh, his breath hot against her belly.
He seemed to lose strength and fell asleep.
Lillian wiped away a tear, then tried to move his arm.
No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't break free. She struggled, sweating, but eventually gave up.
She called for Harry, but it was quiet outside.
She knew Harry was there. She called again.
"Harry, if you don't bring the fever medicine, he'll really become an idiot."
After a moment, Harry walked in with water and a fever pill.
If the fever medicine had been taken, it couldn't be taken again soon.
Lillian knew Jackson hadn't taken it. She took the pill, "You guys are really in sync."
Harry looked away, feeling guilty.
"Mrs. Frane, I'm just an employee. Mr. Frane forced me to lie, do you believe me?"
Lillian smiled, shoved the pill into Jackson's mouth, and grabbed the water, pinching his nose.
As Jackson spoke, she dumped water on him. Half-awake, he choked on his words.
He let go of Lillian, turned to his side, arched his back, and coughed violently, veins bulging on his neck.
It was a pitiful sight.
Harry turned away, unable to watch.
He thought he should cancel his date after vacation.
Stay away from women, cherish life.
Jackson's body was healthy. After taking the fever medicine and sleeping, he felt better.
By the time they landed, Jackson had tidied up, changed clothes, and was back to his dignified self, showing no signs of his earlier vulnerability. He held Lillian as they walked out, while she tried to break free.
"I can walk by myself."
"There are a lot of people at the airport, it's easy to have an accident."
Jackson reminded her in a low voice, his attitude firm.
Lillian glanced around. They were in the VIP passage, and she couldn't see any crowd.
But the next second, she regretted it.
"Jackson! Lillian?"
A familiar woman's voice called out, and Star's pretty figure appeared, pulling a suitcase.
Alone, she filled the passage with an oppressive presence, making the air stifling to Lillian.
"Jackson, you found Lillian, that's great. Lillian, where have you been? You're pregnant, how can you run around like that! You don't know how worried Jackson has been. I've been by his side watching him worry. You can't be so willful next time."
