Chapter 772

Jackson's eyes were smiling but also carried a bit of pressure as he gazed at Lillian.

Lillian's hands, resting on her knees, quietly clenched, and her breath hitched. She widened her eyes.

"You..."

Before she could voice her refusal, Jackson raised an eyebrow and interrupted. "Wasn't it you who wronged me? You should at least show some remorse. You weren't this unreasonable when you were little."

Lillian pursed her lips, "You weren't this pushy before either!"

She had agreed to give him a chance to pursue her, but that didn't mean she had agreed to be his girlfriend.

But Jackson, throughout the day, acted like a prospective boyfriend, taking every opportunity to be intimate.

And now he was even trying to make her take the initiative?

No way!

"Really? You didn't see this pushy side of me? Now you'll see.."

If being pushy could make her take the initiative a little, Jackson didn't mind being even pushier.

Lillian was at a loss for words, looking at Jackson, who was leisurely waiting for a kiss, but she didn't move.

She couldn't indulge him!

She deliberately turned her head away, not looking at him, not cooperating, not responding.

She thought that by doing this, Jackson would finally give in. But as the green light countdown began, Jackson showed no intention of starting the car.

He maintained his turned position, "Hurry up, or the traffic cop will come after us again."

As Jackson's voice fell, a honk sounded from the car behind them.

Lillian glanced at the rearview mirror and saw a traffic cop riding towards them.

Moreover, their car hadn't moved far, and the approaching cop was the same one from earlier.

Lillian had just escaped an awkward situation, and if she got caught by the cop again, it would be even more embarrassing.

In her anxiety, she couldn't care about anything else and quickly leaned over to kiss Jackson on the cheek, then said in a flustered tone.

"Let's go, hurry up!"

"Yes, ma'am."

Jackson, having gotten what he wanted, was in a great mood and didn't hesitate.

Jackson re-fastened his seatbelt and started the car smoothly.

But the spot on his cheek where she had kissed him felt unusually sensitive, as if a petal had fallen into his heart.

He couldn't explain why, even though they had a child together and had shared more passionate moments before.

But this light kiss on the cheek made Jackson feel exceptionally satisfied and moved.

His eyes even felt a bit teary from the excitement and joy.

Jackson gripped the steering wheel, maintaining a calm and composed exterior, and then noticed that Lillian in the back seat seemed even quieter than him.

He looked at her through the rearview mirror with a smile, "Lillian, are you shy now?"

"Just drive." Lillian hugged a teddy bear, tugging at its ears, and glanced at him.

Jackson's lips curved slightly, and he added. "Next time, you should kiss me passionately."

Lillian's face, which had just cooled down, heated up again, "You have quite the ambition."

Jackson raised an eyebrow, "My ultimate ambition is for Lillian to marry me."

Lillian glanced at him again, "That's a tough one. My family doesn't like people like you."

She was reminding him that her grandparents didn't have a good impression of him, yet he dared to dream.

But Jackson deliberately misinterpreted her words, "Your family doesn't like me, so that means you like me a lot?"

Lillian looked up and met his gaze in the rearview mirror.

Those deep eyes seemed to be filled with stars.

Lillian's heart skipped a beat, and the retort she had prepared slipped from her mind.

She silently cursed herself for being so unsettled, unable to resist Jackson.

She opened her mouth, then angrily changed the subject. "Do you know where Shirley was taken by Gray?"

"I had Terry check. We'll be there soon."

Jackson was right. In just a few minutes, he drove into an upscale neighborhood.

Gray's villa was in the center of the neighborhood, near the lake. The three-story villa was nestled among green trees and clear water, looking particularly serene and pleasant.

As the car approached, Jackson saw a Koenigsegg parked in front of the villa.

"That's Gray's car." Jackson said, parking the car on the side.

Before Jackson could unbuckle his seatbelt and get out to open the door for Lillian, she impatiently opened the door and jumped out.

But she didn't notice a small stone by the roadside. Stepping on it, she stumbled forward.

Jackson got out of the car, not even closing the door, and reached out to catch her in his arms.

Lillian leaned against Jackson's chest, clutching his shirt, and looked up in panic.

Jackson looked down, his eyes and lips filled with a smile. "Why is it that I haven't even started pursuing you, and you're already throwing yourself at me?"

The teasing in Jackson's eyes felt electric, and Lillian quickly pushed him away, turning and walking ahead briskly.

Jackson closed the car door, watching her hurried back, and then followed, saying. "Don't walk so fast, nothing will happen."

He believed Gray had some sense of propriety.

However, before Jackson's voice had even faded, a familiar man's stern shout came from the villa's courtyard.

"Shirley, get down here!"

Lillian recognized Gray's voice and quickly walked towards the sound, her face changing.

She saw Shirley, in a bathrobe, had climbed over the railing on the third-floor balcony, her thin figure swaying precariously.

Gray, disheveled, chased out of the room, his expression cold.

Lillian's heart pounded in fear.

"Shirley..." she called out loudly, trying to calm Shirley down.

But before she could finish, Shirley let go of the railing and fell straight down from the third floor!

"Shirley!"

"Shirley!"

Lillian's scream and Gray's shocked, angry shout rang out simultaneously.

Gray took two big steps, his tall body leaning over the railing, reaching out to grab Shirley.

But he only managed to catch a bit of her bathrobe sleeve, which slipped off, and Shirley fell.

A loud splash sounded.

Fortunately, there was a pool below, and Shirley fell into it, causing a splash.

"Shirley! Jackson, save her!" Lillian screamed, running towards the pool, then turned back to seek help.
