Chapter 613

Jackson's face twisted a bit as he walked up to her, bringing a chill with him. He plopped down on the bed and grabbed her bleeding hand.

"Lillian! Are you outta your mind? Pulling this crap on me!"

He yelled, called the nurse in a low growl, and then used a cotton swab to stop her bleeding.

Lillian leaned back against the headboard, watching his angry and worried face with cold eyes.

She didn't feel any satisfaction, just numbness.

"Jackson, isn't this what you wanted? You've been pushing me all along. I wish I were crazy, then I wouldn't have to deal with you anymore."

Her voice was flat, emotionless, making him uneasy.

His face went pale, and sweat started to bead on his forehead.

He thought she was being heartless.

She knew he cared about her, so she used herself as a weapon against him.

She had no respect for his love, just stomped all over it.

Jackson's face darkened. After a moment, he suddenly tightened his grip on her wrist, his bloodshot eyes glaring at her.

"Lillian, Bob's dead, but we still don't know who was behind him. If you want to avenge Taylor, you gotta stay here, with me!"

Lillian didn't know Bob was dead.

She thought Bob had already been nabbed by the cops.

Her eyelashes fluttered, and her dull eyes started to burn with sharp hatred, staring at Jackson.

"What do you mean?" Her voice was tense and shaking with anger.

She was drowning in the grief of losing Taylor and guilt for falling into the trap, so she didn't have time to think through the accident.

She really believed that Bob kidnapped her for ransom because he was scared of going back to jail.

But now that she thought about it, how could Bob alone have pulled off something this big?

"There was a signal jammer in the car, and the call from the hospital about Max's critical condition was super fishy."

Lillian remembered that night in the car, Moritz had tried to call Jackson, but the phone couldn't get through.

She thought it was the weather, but when she got out of the car, Jackson's call came through. Obviously, the signal was jammed in the car.

And the call from the nurse? No way it was Bob, he should've already been waiting to act by then.

"Was it the Price family? It had to be someone from the Price family, right?"

Lillian grabbed Jackson's arm tightly, her eyes filling with blood-red hatred.

She could only think of the Price family.

The Price family hated her, blamed her for messing up Star's future, and hated her even more for Susan's death.

In Country N, their plan to hurt her failed, so they cooked up a nastier kidnapping, using someone else to do the dirty work.

That night, Jackson was conveniently called to the outskirts by Star.

Besides the Price family, she couldn't think of anyone else.

Lillian thought of seeing Star outside the nursery in the hospital today, and she hated herself for realizing it only now.

She shouldn't have just slapped Star; she should've stabbed her!

"It was Star! She even dressed up glamorously today, celebrating in front of me, celebrating her win!"

Lillian was shaking all over, super agitated.

Jackson didn't want to tell her all this. The doc said she shouldn't get too worked up, but her lifeless and self-repressive vibe freaked him out.

He thought if hatred could light a fire under her and make her take care of herself, then let her hate.

He thought, at least they still had the same hatred, the same enemy.

But the next second, Lillian suddenly pushed him away, her eyes filled with sadness and doubt, murmuring, "How stupid of me to ask you these things. If it really was the Price family, you'd probably just protect them."
