Chapter 257 Unwilling to Care

"I'll go with you to take Grandma Lyra back," Jackson said, seemingly understanding Lillian's confusion.

Lillian frowned and said, "You should stay here and take care of Ms. Sivan."

"How generous of you." Jackson sneered.

Lillian thought he was simply being difficult and couldn't be bothered to respond. She rolled her eyes and turned away.

Lyra, however, turned to Jackson and said bluntly, "Get lost! Can't you see Lillian doesn't want you around?"

With one hand in his pocket, Jackson stepped aside to open the elevator for them, saying, " Grandma, as long as you want me around, that's fine."

Lyra laughed out and said, "What makes you think I want you around? I don't have a cheating grandson like you! I want to live a few more years, but seeing you just makes me angry. Get lost. I don't need you to take me!"

Lyra almost waved her cane again.

However, the more they showed their disdain, the more Jackson ignored it. He stepped into the elevator with them.

As the elevator descended slowly, Jackson turned his head to look at Lillian beside him and said, "Give me a tissue."

Lillian didn't move. She knew Jackson had germaphobia. He had just touched the elevator button, so he definitely wanted to wipe his hands. If he didn't, he would feel uncomfortable all over.

However, she didn't care whether he was uncomfortable.

Lillian pretended not to hear and leaned her head towards Lyra, showing Jackson only the back of her head.

Jackson's thin lips pressed together, and he let out a small laugh. She had quite a temper now.

Jackson shifted a step closer and nudged Lillian with his elbow. Lillian, annoyed by him, moved aside again, not even glancing at him.

She thought Jackson would finally stay quiet, but unexpectedly, he grabbed her hand. Before Lillian could react, he interlocked their fingers and rubbed her palm, his fingertips pressing heavily on the back of her hand. It was as if he was saying, 'If you don't give me a tissue, then we'll both stay dirty.'

Lillian was so infuriated by his childish behavior that she almost laughed. She forcefully pulled her hand back, irritably opened her bag, and took out a wet tissue.

"Thank you," Jackson said.

As soon as she pulled out the tissue, Jackson reached over and took it from her.

Lillian closed her eyes, tried to control her temper, and pulled out another tissue.

Seeing her puffed-up face, like a little pufferfish, Jackson's thin lips curved slightly. He wiped his fingers with the tissue, but before the smile could reach his eyes, he saw Lillian wiping the hand he had just held with a look of utter disgust.

Jackson's handsome face turned sullen, and a chill surrounded him.

Lyra saw Jackson's actions clearly through the elevator's reflection. He was truly annoying, simply unbearable. When he should have performed well, he did nothing and hurt Lillian's feelings. Now, causing trouble only made Lillian dislike him more. Even as a biological grandson, she couldn't stand it.

Lyra directly pulled Lillian to her other side, standing between them, and said sternly, "Since you're divorced, stop bothering Lillian! Keep your distance!"

This was exactly what Lillian wanted to say. She nodded and linked arms with Lyra.

Lyra then smiled warmly at Lillian and said, "Lillian, you don't have any friends in Phantom Kingdom, and I'm really worried about you. I know a few talented young men in Phantom Kingdom, all handsome and responsible. How about I arrange a date for you to them?"

Lyra clearly intended to arrange dates for Lillian.

Lillian didn't want to date, but seeing Lyra tired and upset today, she wanted to make her happy. She opened her mouth to agree, but Jackson interrupted, "How come I don't know you know any talented young men in Phantom Kingdom? Who are they? Tell me."

Lyra laughed and said, "Why should I tell you? You have enough to worry about with Wendy."

Jackson was at a loss for words, not knowing what to say.
