Chapter 166 Marital Discord
"Very well!" Jackson's face turned even colder.
Lillian wasn't afraid of him and insisted, "Get out! Wendy must drink this bottle of water today!"
Jackson couldn't let anything happen to the child in Wendy's belly.
He stood still as his gaze was fixed on the bottle of water in Lillian's hand.
"What's inside?" Jackson asked.
Lillian mocked, inched closer to Jackson's ear, and said, "Don't worry, I won't poison her, let alone harm the baby in her belly!"
Her voice was soft but icy. As she leaned in, the familiar scent of gardenia wafted over Jackson.
Jackson's mind was uncontrollably swayed, and as Lillian stepped back, Jackson reached out and grabbed her wrist again.
He felt her wrist in his palm was delicate, and the skin was warm and smooth, stirring emotions in his eyes. His mind flashed through inappropriate images.
Although he had decided to let her go, his body longed for her even more.
Jackson's Adam's apple rolled slightly as he lowered his head and whispered in Lillian's ear,
"If you want to vent, you can slap Wendy a few more times, but she can't drink sleeping pills because it will harm the child."
He was giving in.
Lillian was somewhat surprised that he allowed her to slap Wendy.
But Lillian didn't appreciate it, feeling even colder.
This also indicated that Jackson was clear about the effects of the drugs.
He cared so much about the baby in Wendy's belly, but what about her baby? Wasn't he afraid of the effects of the drugs?
When Lillian thought she, a pregnant woman, took sleeping pills that could potentially affect the baby's neurological development, her heart was tormented. She wanted Wendy to suffer the same treatment, that was the only way to calm her anger.
Lillian forcefully pulled her hand away, took two steps back, and stared coldly at Jackson, saying, "I don't want to hit her. I just want an eye for an eye! I won't touch her a bit more! Let me through!"
Jackson's handsome face remained cold. He was surprised by Lillian's stubbornness.
Lillian had already slapped Wendy twice, and he had said she could hit her a few more times to vent, but she insisted on being aggressive.
Jackson frowned his brows and said, "Lillian, why can't you get along with an innocent child? Stop it!"
Lillian found it ridiculous that he stood in front of Wendy and blamed her.
Her eyes instantly reddened as if bleeding. She uttered each word slowly and emphatically,
"Jackson, don't make me hate you!"
The clear eyes of Lillian, for the first time, showed a strong resentment when looking at Jackson.
She stood there, taking a stance of breaking up with him.
Her gaze was like a knife, stabbing straight at the softest part of Jackson's chest.
Jackson's expression changed slightly, and his face turned blanched.
He remained silent for a moment but was unable to suppress the unfamiliar sense of fear in his heart. When he spoke again, his voice was dry, "I have decided. You can slap her five more times."
Wendy felt a bit of schadenfreude, relying on the baby in her belly.
Jackson would never let anything happen to the child in her belly, and Lillian had no evidence. Lillian's behavior like this, other than causing a rift between her and Jackson, embarrassing herself further, and making Jackson disgusted, has absolutely no benefits.
Wendy thought that only Lillian would act so recklessly.
However, while Wendy felt triumphant, she heard Jackson's words.
Wendy widened her eyes in disbelief, asking, "Jackson! Why? I don't want to be slapped. I haven't done anything! It's Lillian who wrongly accused me. I don't want this! It's unfair to me!"
She wanted to grab Jackson's sleeve, but he suddenly turned around and sternly shouted,
"Shut up!"
