Chapter 909

"Lillian, I know."

Jackson's soft interruption cut off Lillian's words. His voice was calm, but there was a clear tension in it.

Lillian was taken aback by his reaction. She paused before speaking again.

"You know? How could you..."

From Jackson's tone, it seemed he had also discovered something.

Could it be that Logan really was Taylor?

Lillian's heart pounded uncontrollably, and her eyes reddened instantly.

She had a bad feeling about this.

Logan might be in trouble; otherwise, Jackson wouldn't sound so grave.

"I had my suspicions when I left the police station this morning. I contacted Mireille, and she told me she had taken Logan back to the Price Mansion. Everything seemed normal, so I dismissed my doubts. But I still instructed Harry to go back to Miracalia and get a paternity test for Logan."

Jackson's voice was low as he explained the situation briefly.

Lillian's breath hitched. "And then?"

She was anxious, her throat dry.

"But I just tried to contact Mireille, and I can't reach her. Is Logan in trouble?"

"Yes, Harry just called to report that Logan and Mireille are missing. It's likely that when Ruby was arrested, Logan was taken away."

Lillian had put the phone on speaker as soon as she answered it.

Hearing Jackson's words, she exchanged a glance with Oberon. They both saw the confirmation in each other's eyes.

Logan was probably Taylor!

Otherwise, how could there be such a coincidence?

Lillian's breathing was erratic, and Jackson could hear her chaotic breaths and emotions through the phone.

His feelings were equally tumultuous. From losing their child to feeling so close to finding him, it was overwhelming. It felt like they were just about to bring him back home.

But now, their child was in the hands of criminals.

Especially since he had been right there with them, and they, as parents, hadn't recognized or protected him.

"Lillian, I'm sorry. But don't worry, Logan is most likely still in Miracalia. I've instructed Harry to lock down all exits and search every corner to find Logan."

Lillian's hand trembled as she held the phone. Her emotions were like waves threatening to drown her, and she felt like she was falling into an icy abyss.

Thinking about Logan, not knowing where he was or what he was going through, made her heart ache.

Imagining how scared Logan must be, Lillian was filled with regret and anger.

She closed her eyes, forcing herself to calm down.

"Okay, what do we need to do now? Are you heading back to Miracalia, or continuing to Seaside City?"

Jackson's voice was steady. "I'll let Harry handle Miracalia for now. I'm continuing to Seaside City to find out if Gemma's family is behind Logan's kidnapping."

If Gemma's family was involved, they were likely the ones who took Logan.

Knowing who the kidnappers were would make it easier to plan their next move.

"Alright, I'll wait for your update." Lillian paused, then added softly, "Be careful and stay safe."

Jackson felt a ripple of emotion at her concern. His voice softened, "I will. Wait for me."

After hanging up, Lillian looked down at her phone and opened the photo album.

She scrolled through pictures of Logan, her vision blurring.

A tear fell onto the screen, obscuring Logan's face.

Realizing she was crying, Lillian quickly tried to wipe the screen, but it only got wetter. The photos slid past her fingers.

She hadn't noticed before, but her phone was filled with pictures of Logan.

There were solo shots of Logan, photos of them together, and many candid shots of Jackson holding Logan.

"It's okay, it's okay. We've found him, and now we just need to bring him home. This is good news, don't cry."

Oberon's eyes were also wet. He wiped his eyes before taking the phone from Lillian and patting her shoulder.

Lillian, her eyes red, looked at Oberon. "Grandpa, I'm really not a good mom. I keep losing him."

She recalled her first encounter with Logan.

The first time she saw Logan was in a restaurant hallway. He had clung to her finger and put it in his mouth.

But later, she noticed Logan wasn't usually affectionate with strangers.

When Mireille took care of Logan, it took two days for Logan to let Mireille hold him.

Maybe Logan had recognized her as his mom from the first meeting.

That was why he was so happy and dependent.

When the nanny took him away, he cried so pitifully.

But she hadn't suspected anything. She hadn't recognized Logan.

Later, when Logan was mistreated by the Price Mansion's nanny, he showed unusual dependence on her every time they met.

He had been asking for help, but she hadn't realized it was her Taylor seeking his mom.

She had let Taylor down, not recognizing or protecting him.

Lillian's heart ached as she remembered everything.

Oberon patted her back as she rested her head on his shoulder.

He didn't say anything to comfort her, letting her cry and vent her emotions.

He gently patted her back, and after a while, he said, "Don't worry. Logan is Ruby's leverage. Ruby won't let anything happen to him. For now, Logan is safe. With the Kelly and Frane families' resources, we'll definitely bring Logan back safely."

Lillian understood this, but she still felt uneasy.

Thinking of Logan waiting for them to rescue him, Lillian wiped her tears and told Oberon, "I need to call Ambrose."

Ambrose didn't know about this yet.

Her voice was hoarse from crying. Oberon patted her head. "Go wash your face. I'll talk to him."

Just then, Flora burst in.

Seeing Lillian's tear-streaked face and red eyes, Flora was frantic.

She rushed over, pushing Oberon aside and glaring at him. "Don't bully Lillian!"

Lillian, hugged by Flora, saw Oberon's helpless and amused expression, and her mood lifted a bit.

She held Flora's arm. "Grandma, Grandpa wouldn't bully me. I'm crying because I'm happy, really happy."

Flora stared at her, and Lillian tried to muster a smile.

Flora looked into her bright eyes and said thoughtfully, "I know, Lillian is crying tears of joy."

"Yes, Grandma, you're so smart. You knew right away that I was crying because I was happy."

"But don't cry. Be happy without the tears. Crying makes you less beautiful."

Flora shook her head and lovingly touched Lillian's slightly swollen eyes.

Lillian felt a warmth in her heart. She had so many family members who loved her now.

She believed that Taylor would come back to her.

Taylor would receive so much love and be a blessed child.

Lillian and Flora went to the bathroom to freshen up. When they came out, Oberon had already called Ambrose.

"Ambrose took some people to the Lawson Villa. Gemma worked there her whole life, so the staff must know something. We'll wait for news from Ambrose and Jackson."

It wasn't until the evening that they received any updates.

Although they hadn't found Taylor, Jackson's trip to Seaside City confirmed that Gemma's story about moving back home was a lie.

Gemma's family had never returned to Seaside City. They had simply vanished.

This meant that the people helping Ruby in the shadows were indeed Gemma's family.

Jackson left some people in Seaside City to keep an eye out, preventing them from hiding Taylor there, and then returned to Seaspring Valley City.

That night, in the study of the Kelly Manor.

"Harry reviewed the surveillance footage from the Peace Mansion and confirmed that the child was taken an hour after Ruby's arrest."

Jackson played a surveillance video on the screen.

Lillian watched intently. The footage showed the entrance of the Peace Mansion.

A car slowly drove out of the Peace Mansion. The window was partially open, revealing Mireille holding Logan in the back seat, with a woman in her thirties or forties sitting beside them.

The woman's face seemed familiar to Lillian, but she couldn't place where she had seen her before.

Jackson paused and zoomed in on the woman's face. "This woman is a servant of the Price family. She started working there last year. It's clear she took Mireille and Logan from the Peace Mansion."

"And this car didn't return to the Price family. It quickly entered an area without surveillance and then disappeared."

Lillian stared at the woman's face on the screen, then quickly looked through a stack of photos beside her. She found one and exclaimed, "Look, doesn't this woman look like Haven?"

She held up a photo of Gemma's eldest daughter-in-law, Haven.

In the photo, Haven was dressed stylishly, with long, wavy hair and a polished look, exuding a sense of luxury.

But the woman in the surveillance footage wore a plain, aging cardigan, with her hair in a lifeless bun, looking at least twenty years older.

She seemed to be wearing makeup to look older and more tired.

But upon closer inspection, they did look like the same person.

"It's her," Jackson confirmed.

These photos were old ones of Gemma's family that Ambrose had gathered.

They were taken five or six years ago. After Gemma's family disappeared, they had clearly disguised themselves.

The Haven in the photo and the woman in the footage looked like two different people. It was impressive that Lillian had recognized her so quickly.

Ambrose raised an eyebrow at Lillian. "Great job. This confirms that Gemma's family took Taylor. Now that we know who the kidnappers are, it will be easier to act."

"This woman started working at the Price Mansion last year, before Logan was born. Ruby must have placed her there after first contacting Dominic, to keep an eye on Miracalia and set up this plan."

Jackson's voice was cold.

"No wonder Ruby always knew what was happening in Miracalia," Lillian added with a cold laugh. Dominic, so shrewd, probably never suspected that Ruby had infiltrated his household.

Oberon looked at Haven's photo and then tossed it onto the table. "Gemma's second son, Cade, left the country four years ago to study in Averlake. He's likely not there anymore. Cade must be managing things abroad, ready to assist if something goes wrong. Uri's family is carrying out the kidnapping."

"I'll distribute Uri and his wife's photos and information for a citywide search. If they show up, we'll find them immediately."

Jackson was about to contact Harry when Harry called.

Jackson answered and put the call on speaker.

Harry got straight to the point. "Mr. Frane, we've checked all the entry and exit points in Miracalia over the past two days. None of the children we found is Logan. They must still be hiding in Miracalia."

Jackson looked at Lillian, his lips curving slightly.

If Logan was still in Miracalia, it would be easier to find him. It was just a matter of time.

Lillian understood this, too. She couldn't help but reach out her hand.

Jackson took her hand, and they held each other tightly, drawing strength from each other's warmth.

Jackson said, "We have the kidnappers' information. I'll send it to you. Lock down Miracalia."

Harry was pleased. "Don't worry, we won't let them escape! We'll dig them out if we have to."

After hanging up, Jackson thought for a moment and said, "We need to move on, Ruby, as well. I'll go see her."

Oberon immediately understood his plan. "You want to pretend to negotiate with her, to get her to contact Gemma's family?"

Jackson nodded. "Yes, if we get them to move, Harry can track them."

Oberon agreed. "That could work."

Ruby wouldn't expect them to have figured out Logan's identity or who was hiding him.

With this advantage, they had a good chance of finding and rescuing Logan.

Oberon wasn't too worried.

Jackson stood up, and Lillian quickly followed, holding his hand firmly. "I'm coming with you."

Jackson looked at her and, this time, didn't refuse. He squeezed her hand. "Alright, we'll go together."

As they turned to leave, Oberon spoke up. "I have something you should take with you. Show it to Ruby; it might help."
