Chapter 594
Lillian stopped and shook her head, looking like she was done with all the BS.
"I don't wanna hear your excuses right now. Taylor's in the incubator, right? Is Taylor a boy or a girl?"
She tried to get up, pushing the blanket off, but she was so weak that every move made her sweat like crazy, and she was wobbling all over the place.
Jackson felt like someone was stabbing him in the heart. He pushed her back down, cupped her face, and pressed his forehead against hers.
"Lillian, you get what I'm saying. Taylor is our baby boy. But I'm sorry, it's on me for not keeping you and Taylor safe, that's why he..."
Before he could finish, Lillian slapped him. It was a weak slap, barely making a sound, but it hurt Jackson like hell.
"Jackson, you're so annoying. I told you to leave, can't you get it? I need to see Taylor. He's probably looking for me. He'll only be calm if I'm there. Is he scared? Is he hurting? Is he cold? I need to find him. Let me go! Let me go!"
Lillian started to struggle, frowning at how ridiculous he was being. What was he even talking about?
She didn't get it, and she didn't care. She pushed him, shaking her head, kicking and hitting like crazy.
Her voice got more shaky and hoarse, and her eyes, peeking out from her messy hair, were bloodshot like they were about to bleed.
"Lillian, I'm sorry, please, don't freak me out like this."
Jackson hugged her tight, trying to keep her from breaking free but also scared of hurting her. His arms were shaking from the effort, but he could feel Lillian trembling even more.
She looked so fragile, like she could break any second.
Right then, it felt like their whole world was falling apart.
"Please, Lillian, calm down. Your body can't handle this."
Jackson was drowning in helplessness and fear. His voice was rough as he tried to calm her down.
He kept kissing her damp hair, pressing his forehead against hers, a tear rolling down into her hair.
He pressed her cheek against his chest, feeling the warmth spreading.
"Get out! Get out, let me go! I don't want your apologies. Give me back Taylor, give me back my Taylor!"
Lillian slapped and pushed him, her nails scratching his neck and face. She couldn't break free, her heart filled with hatred.
It was ridiculous that Jackson told her Taylor was gone.
Taylor was just kicking in her belly, calling for her to save him.
Why did she wake up to find Taylor gone?
It was absurd. Her child was gone, and Jackson wanted her to calm down.
She couldn't calm down; she was filled with hatred!
That hatred made her want to kill, to kill everyone, including herself.
She bit Jackson's neck, like she wanted to bite through his veins, devour his flesh and blood, to ease even a bit of her immense sorrow and anger.
But she was too weak, quickly losing strength.
Her trembling body fell powerlessly into Jackson's arms.
"Lillian! Doctor! Doctor!"
Lillian fell silent in his arms, like she would never open her eyes again.
Jackson shouted, and the doctor rushed in. After checking Lillian, they started an IV.
"Mr. Frane, Mrs. Frane is too grief-stricken and physically weak, which caused her to faint. We gave her some sedatives. She shouldn't get this agitated after waking up, or it'll mess with her health."
The doctor gave his instructions and left. Jackson sat by the bedside, holding Lillian's hands, pressing them to his lips, looking just as bad as Lillian.
When Lillian woke up again, the daylight was bright outside the window.
