Chapter 556 She Saved Her
Lillian dodged to the side, watching Star, who had fallen to the ground, looking disheveled and screaming in pain. She frowned tightly.
Lillian wondered if there was something wrong with her psychologically, as she always assumed the worst in people.
In any case, her initial feeling was that Star had orchestrated the entire scene.
She couldn't believe that someone who had been so malicious towards her before would suddenly risk everything to save her.
The person who had fallen to the ground with Star was curled up and couldn't get up. But the person chasing her from behind didn't stop and rushed over.
She saw the disheveled Star repeatedly apologizing, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry! I didn't expect she'd run into you. If I had known, I wouldn't have chased her. Miss, are you okay? You're burned!"
Lillian exclaimed in surprise, "Mila? Why is it you!"
It was Mila, the nurse who took care of Max.
Mila looked up and saw Lillian, paused for a moment, and hurriedly stepped forward. "Mrs. Frane, why are you here? Here's what happened..."
Mila was about to explain when the person who had fallen to the ground struggled to get up and tried to run.
Mila was startled. She rushed forward to grab the person, angrily saying, "You hurt someone and still dare to run? Hand over the recorder!"
"Let go of me! Get off, you're just a nurse, how dare you touch me? I don't know anything about a recorder!"
As the woman struggled, her hat and wig fell to the ground, revealing a bruised and battered face.
Lillian finally saw clearly that it was Mary.
Thinking about the recorder Mila had just mentioned, Lillian's brow twitched slightly, and she roughly understood what was going on.
But if that was the case, it couldn't have been Star orchestrating it herself.
"Miss Price, get up first. I'll take you to the emergency room." Lillian's expression was slightly complicated as she bent down to help Star. The nurse at the reception desk saw something was wrong and came over to help lift Star up.
Steam was still rising from Star's clothes, and her face was very pale. She leaned weakly against the nurse and looked at Lillian.
"Lilian, are you okay?"
Lillian felt complicated. Even though she had dodged, she might have still fallen if Star hadn't stepped in to block the person.
Putting aside her emotions, Lillian composed herself and said to Star, "I'm fine. You should go with the nurse to get treated..."
At this moment, another voice interrupted.
"Star? What happened? How did you end up like this!"
Lillian turned around and saw Daisy walking over quickly.
Daisy looked concerned, quickly walked up the steps, and held Star's arm.
"Aunt Daisy, I just got burned, it's nothing. Lilian is pregnant, as long as she's okay,"
Star said weakly, a layer of sweat forming on her forehead. Then she closed her eyes and collapsed onto Daisy.
Daisy was startled and quickly instructed the nurse to help.
A nurse brought over a wheelchair, and Star was helped into it and hurriedly taken to the ward.
Daisy glared at Lillian, frowning angrily. "What happened? Did you spill hot soup on Star?"
Jumping to conclusions without asking questions was typical Daisy.
But since it was Mary and Mila who had caused the collision, and Star's injury was indeed related to her, Lillian patiently explained and added, "I'll bring my mom over later to apologize and thank Miss Price."
Daisy looked at Mary, who was still being tightly held by Mila.
Mary was a mess, her clothes rumpled and splattered with soup.
