Chapter 693

Lillian had no clue she was being tailed the whole way.

Back at Mystic Meadows, Lillian hopped out of the car and said, "Ambrose, I'm worried about Shirley. I'm heading up first."

Watching her dash towards the villa, Ambrose hesitated for a moment before slowly shutting the car door.

He called out, "Don't forget, we're going to the company together tomorrow."

"Got it; good night." Lillian didn't look back; she just waved her hand and quickly disappeared from sight.

She sprinted up to the second floor before slowing down. Even though she wanted to avoid Ambrose, she was genuinely worried about Shirley.

After knocking twice, Lillian pushed open the door to Shirley's room.

Shirley was by the bed, charging her phone. When she saw Lillian come in, she turned and smiled, "I was in the shower and missed your call earlier. I haven't dared to log into Facebook these past two days."

"You can log in now," Lillian said with a grin.

Shirley nodded eagerly. "Yeah, now it's Bianca who's scared! So satisfying."

The trending topic of people cursing Bianca for deceiving the public and manipulating opinions was still going strong.

Even Horizon Hive Media was getting flak, especially with Bianca's arrogant attitude in the video, treating the blacklisting of stars like it was no big deal. The public really didn't like her behavior.

Now, fans of Horizon Hive Media's stars were causing a fuss, worried that their favorite stars had also been slandered and bullied by Bianca.

Shirley couldn't be happier. "Come, sit down," she said, pulling Lillian to sit on the bed.

Lillian sat down, puzzled. "What's up?"

Shirley leaned over and flopped onto Lillian's lap. "I must be the luckiest fool to have set my sights on you so early, Lillian!"

Lillian rolled her eyes and pushed her away with a laugh. "Stop messing around. You can't avoid talking about you and Gray!"

Shirley's expression changed slightly, but seeing Lillian's concern, she shrugged and said, "There's not much to say. Gray's mom, Melissa, came to see me, you know."

Shirley sneered, and Lillian instantly got it. After all, Lillian had her own troubles with Daisy before.

She hugged Shirley tightly. "Didn't you tell Gray about this? Maybe he doesn't want to marry Bianca. From the way he acted tonight, it didn't seem like he cared much about her."

Shirley snorted, "So what? If it's not Bianca, it'll be someone else, but it won't be me."

"Have you talked to him?" Lillian's heart ached as she gently patted Shirley's back.

Lillian could see that Shirley really liked Gray. Shirley wasn't as carefree as she pretended to be.

Sometimes, the more carefree someone seemed, the deeper their hidden wounds.

Shirley sneered again, "He took me into the car, said a few words, then his family and the Porter Family kept calling him. He went to the hospital and told me to wait for his call, but he's probably still with Bianca in the ER now."

Lillian frowned deeply, feeling empathetic, and immediately decided to tell Gray to get lost.

She held Shirley's hand. "Shirley, Ambrose knows a lot of decent and excellent guys. How about I ask him to introduce you to a few?"

Shirley immediately nodded with enthusiasm. "Absolutely! After ditching a jerk, I need to date a bunch of guys to fully bounce back! Let's do it, I'm in!"

Lillian left Shirley's room and headed back to her own. After a quick shower, she climbed into bed and grabbed her phone from the nightstand.

She was about to set an alarm when she noticed a few messages from an unknown number.

Lillian opened the messages, her eyes widening.

[I saw it.]

[He kissed you!]

[You actually let him kiss you!]

[Are you two together? Are you really planning to marry him?]

Lillian was stunned. It finally clicked that the two honks she heard earlier were from Jackson.

At the time, she thought it was just a kind stranger helping her out, but now she just wanted to kick him to the curb. What a stalker!

She moved her fingers, ready to block the number.

But then another message popped up.

[Did you brush your teeth well? Brush a few more times!]

Lillian was speechless, too annoyed to deal with his increasingly irritating harassment, but Jackson sent another message.

[He kissed you forcefully, and you weren't even mad. Next time we meet, I'll kiss you forcefully too.]

Lillian was exasperated. What a lunatic.

Fearing he might actually do it, Lillian frowned and typed furiously on the screen.

[You dare!]

As soon as she sent the message, her phone rang.

It was Jackson calling directly.

Lillian was startled, fumbling to hang up, but with her wet hands from the shower, she accidentally answered the call.

Jackson's slightly hoarse but delighted voice immediately filled the room. "Lillian? You finally answered my call?"

Lillian held the phone like it was a hot potato. She hesitated but didn't hang up, not wanting to seem cowardly.

She said coldly, "Mr. Frane, stop harassing me with messages! And about what you just said..."

She stammered, too embarrassed to continue.

Jackson, however, seemed to chuckle lightly and continued, "What's wrong with kissing you forcefully? Did you agree, or are you looking forward to it like I am?"

Through the phone, Jackson's voice was low and magnetic, with a playful tone that tugged at the heartstrings.

Lillian's ears inexplicably turned red, and she angrily retorted, "I'm not! I answered the call to tell you, if you dare do that, I'll never talk to you again!"

Jackson's voice became even lighter. "You're willing to talk to me now?"

He deliberately twisted her words, completely missing her point.

Lillian was speechless, gritting her teeth, about to hang up in anger.

But Jackson quickly spoke again, "But he kissed you forcefully, and you weren't mad. Lillian, why are you being so double standard?"

Lillian was so confused by his words that she blurted out, "Did you see us kissing? There was no forced kiss, you..."

Halfway through her sentence, she heard Jackson's soft, muffled laughter and realized she didn't need to explain anything to him.

It felt like she was justifying herself. Annoyed, she hung up.

However, Jackson seemed to have anticipated her reaction, and before she could completely hang up, his gentle voice came through. "Good night, cutie."

Hearing him call her 'cutie,' Lillian threw her phone away as if it were burning.
