Chapter 64 Discuss Later

Jackson pressed his thin lips together, his eyes filled with coldness.

His legs were crossed, and he lightly swirled the wine glass with his slender fingers, his body unmoving.

The room was filled with a lively atmosphere, with handsome men and beautiful women. Sitting there, Jackson's facial features were deep and his aura noble, making him the center of attention.

He remained silent and motionless, no one dared to speak up.

The atmosphere became even more tense than before, and this invisible awkwardness made Lillian wish she could just turn around and leave.

But Max was still waiting for help, so Lillian had no choice. She pursed her lips and said, "I have something to discuss."

Only then did Jackson speak, "Who allowed you to come here? We can talk later." This was equivalent to saying, "You are not welcome here, leave quickly."

Lillian's hands and feet turned cold, she felt a chill creeping up her spine. She shouldn't have come and humiliated herself.

Mike brought her here, and things escalated as soon as they arrived, something Mike hadn't anticipated.

She was brought in by Mike. He did not anticipate the situation escalating to this extent.

He reached out to put his arm around Lillian's shoulder to make her stay. But before his hand could touch her, he felt a cold gaze.

He clenched his fist and coughed lightly before saying, "Are you arguing with Jackson? No wonder he's been in a bad mood all night. You can't leave now. Come on, I have high emotional intelligence, let me meditate."

Someone joked, "With Mike changing girlfriends every month, is he trying to quickly find a new girlfriend for Jackson too?"

"Get lost!" Mike turned around and jokingly scolded the person.

Wendy lowered her head, her eyes flickering. She understood why Jackson was being so harsh on Lillian.

She quickly grabbed Lillian's arm and said, "This is Kevin's welcome banquet. Kevin must have personally invited Lillian. After so many years, Lillian and Kevin's relationship is still strong. Lillian doesn't like to go out, but when Kevin is back, she's different."

Kevin's welcome banquet?

Lillian didn't know it was Kevin's welcome banquet today. She had only heard from the news that he was returning to the country, but she didn't know it was today. She hadn't seen Kevin in two years and was starting to miss him.

But because of Max's situation, she had to resolve it tonight, so she reluctantly sat on the sofa.

Wendy sat next to Jackson and pulled Lillian to sit with her, separating her from Jackson.

Jackson's coldness intensified, his knuckles holding the wine glass turning slightly white.

He treated Lillian as if she were invisible, and Lillian didn't want to acknowledge him.

She expressionlessly shook off Wendy's hand, walked to the single sofa on the edge, and said, "Continue. Whose song was playing? Why stop?"

The song was Cordelia's hit song, and she wanted to impress everyone, so she stood up immediately.

The melodious singing filled the room, livening up the atmosphere, but there was still a hint of strangeness.

Everyone was playing and having fun, but secretly observing the trio of Lillian, Jackson, and Wendy. Although Lillian grew up in the Frane family, she wasn't a Frane by blood, so she didn't have much presence initially.

It wasn't until Lillian was twelve that Jackson almost killed someone in public for her, and the Frane family had to cover it up. So everyone knew that Jackson had a very beautiful and beloved non-blood-related sister.

But because of the age difference and his protectiveness, he didn't often take Lillian out. The young masters present had only seen her once or twice and weren't familiar with her.

Later, Lillian became Jackson's wife. The adopted girl of the Frane family became the future mistress in an unsavory manner.

Because the incident was too scandalous, Lillian was often discussed privately.

However, with Jackson being abroad for over four years and not appearing in public with Lillian, the discussions had lessened over time.

Today, despite rarely appearing together, the couple didn't sit together. Instead, Jackson sat with his ex-girlfriend.

Considering they had been married for two years, Jackson had never officially held a wedding ceremony with Lillian.

Wendy went abroad, and Jackson followed to expand the market.

So everyone understood the situation. The looks directed at Lillian were either sympathetic or disdainful.

Lillian knew this all too well and was used to it.

She took out her phone and sent a message to Shirley.

Lillian: [Things are a bit complicated here, it might take a while.]

Shirley replied with an emoji.

Lillian smiled.

Just then, Wendy raised her voice and asked, "Is Kevin texting you? When will he arrive?"
