Chapter 370 Misunderstanding
Jackson was sitting in the lounge area with Simon Barton from the Barton Group, finalizing the last contract for their joint development project.
He looked up at the sound. His face was expressionless, but his eyes were icy.
It was as if he was saying, 'If you don't give a reasonable explanation, I'll kill you.'
Jackson vomited this morning and had a poor appetite all day.
Hungry and having argued with Lillian, Jackson was terrifyingly over the top now.
Terry felt a chill down his body, quickly walked over, and whispered in Jackson's ear, "Mrs. Lillian Frane was forcibly taken to the hospital by Mrs. Daisy Frane..."
Before Terry could finish, Jackson's expression turned grim, but he quickly calmed down. He reached out to Mr. Barton and said, "Sorry, Mr. Barton. There's something at home. I'm willing to give up ten percent of the profits in the interest distribution. For the rest, I'll have Eric discuss it with you in detail."
When Simon heard that Jackson was willing to give up ten percent of the profits, his displeasure instantly vanished.
He quickly stood up and smiled, "Mr. Frane, please go ahead."
Before Simon could finish his sentence, Jackson had already left the office.
Simon touched his chin, wondering what could have happened to make Jackson so anxious.
Jackson, as the president of Star Group, was young, but he had always been mature and steady since entering the business world. It was unusual for him to be so agitated.
On the operating table, Lillian felt a chill to her bones upon hearing Daisy's words. She was tightly restrained and unable to struggle, and suddenly, she lost all strength.
She stared blankly at Daisy, her lips trembling. "Jackson wouldn't treat me like this."
Daisy smiled and said, "No matter how much Jackson cares about you, he won't allow the Frane family bloodline to be confused. He must check what needs to be checked!"
Lillian felt as if all the blood in her body had frozen. She let out a bitter laugh and closed her eyes in near despair.
She no longer tried to struggle, knowing she couldn't break free.
"Let me go. I'll cooperate." Lillian said hoarsely, almost choking up.
She had had enough of the humiliation and didn't want to be manipulated like an object anymore. The nurses looked at Daisy, who nodded.
Daisy sneered. "If you had cooperated earlier, this would have been over by now."
The nurses stepped back a bit, and the doctor found the point to insert the needle.
The pain of the needle piercing her skin came, and Lillian gripped the sides of the operating table tightly, her hands turning pale.
She turned her head, tears seeping from the corners of her eyes.
She thought, 'Taylor, I'm sorry. Mommy can't protect you. I can only lie here weakly, trying to minimize the harm to you. Is Mommy very useless? Are you disappointed in Mommy?'
There was a loud crash; someone rushed in.
But it was too late. The doctor had already completed the examination and withdrawn the needle.
Lillian still lay there with her eyes closed, not moving. Only her knuckles gripped the handles trembly.
She thought it was Jackson, and she didn't want to see him.
The footsteps came quickly, and the person pulled away the nurses surrounding Lillian. However, the voice that spoke was not Jackson's.
"Lillian? Are you okay?" Barry came over and then angrily said to the doctors and the nurses, "What are you doing? You actually ignored the patient's wishes. Do you even deserve to be medical staff?"
Lillian suddenly opened her eyes and said, "Barry?"
Barry held Lillian's hand, one arm under her shoulders, bending down to help her sit up from the operating table, concerned. "Are you okay? Sorry, I came too late."
After sending Lillian away, Barry received a call from a former colleague on the way. The colleague said he still had two medical books he had borrowed from Barry and wanted to return them, so Barry stopped by the hospital to pick them up.
However, he overheard two nurses chatting that a young lady had been brought in for an amniocentesis.
