Chapter 213 Greedy Relatives

“Where are you taking Max? He's my only son, and I'm relying on him to take care of me in my old age. He can't leave!" Mary shouted as she sat on the sickbed, holding onto Max tightly.

Mary's brother, Heroic Garcia, confronted Lillian, saying, "Lillian, you are in the wrong here. Max is Mary's pride and joy. He is in a delicate state now, and yet you still want to secretly take him out of the country. If something were to happen during the journey or if Max struggles abroad, Mary may never get the chance to see him again."

Mia Jones, Heroic's wife, nodded in agreement and advised Lillian, "Lillian, I know you have a kind and righteous heart. You have willingly taken on the responsibility of caring for Max and want to seek treatment abroad. That's commendable. However, you must also consider Mary's feelings. If Max were conscious, he would undoubtedly want to stay by her side.”

Shirley accompanied Lillian to the hospital. She observed they confronted the bed with a cold smirk.

Shirley sneered and said, "Your words are quite amusing. Have you ever visited Max before? His mother, Mary, only comes once or twice a month. As his uncle and aunt, have you visited in the past year? Now that Lillian wants to take him abroad for better treatment, suddenly, you all appear. What do you want?”

Shirley thought they were so malicious that they even schemed against their relatives.

“You can't say that. We are just ordinary people, and our lives are very challenging. We work tirelessly from morning till night to earn money. Even though we think about Max, we don't have the luxury of time like Lillian, the young mistress of the Frane family, to visit the hospital and show our concern. We have the will but lack the means," Mia said with a troubled expression.

Not only was Mia talking nonsense, but she was also implying that Lillian's visits to the hospital were to build an image.

Shirley was furious, rolling up her sleeves and saying, "You're not leaving? Fine, I'll throw you out one by one!"

"Oh my, please call security. There's a disturbance in the ward!" Mia exclaimed as she sat directly on the floor, gripping the leg of Max's bed in anger.

Lillian grabbed Shirley, her icy gaze sweeping over Mary and the others, and asked, "So, what do you want?"

Mary's intentions were clear. She was open to negotiating under specific conditions, and Lillian was willing to hear her out.

Mary freed Max, gazed at Lillian, and said, "You are clever. I can allow Max to go with you. He's my son, and as a mother, I would be overjoyed if he were to awaken. However, with both of you departing, how can I...”

Lillian didn't want to watch her act and impatiently interrupted, "Stop the act and get to the point."

"Five million! You bring out ten million for my old age, and you can take Max," Mary spoke up.

"Five million? Are you crazy? You're so greedy and delusional. Do you see Lilian as an ATM? Dumping the sick brother on Lillian and demanding ten million for a lavish lifestyle – you're truly outrageous!" Shirley shouted.

She was furious, almost shocked by the greed of this family.

Lillian was taken aback by Mary's unexpected demand. She responded coldly, "I have no money. If you doubt me, you can verify my bank details. I can't even handle one million, let alone five million.”

Lillian surely had no money. She owed the Frane Family five million and was penniless.

The remaining money was barely enough to go abroad, rent a compact apartment, and get through a month.

How could she possibly come up with more money to give to these greedy people?

“How can you be broke? You're Jackson's wife. Even if you don't get a billion in the divorce, you should have at least a hundred million, right?”
