Chapter 240 Jackson Stayed Over

Jackson snorted, "Very well."

Lillian had been scolded as a troublemaker before. The two sentences were similar in meaning, but this time, there was an inexplicable hint of affection and indulgence.

Tonight, Jackson seemed a bit different.

Lillian's ears felt itchy, and she was a bit anxious. She pretended to yawn and then closed her eyes.

"I'm so tired. I'll take a nap." Lillian said.

Jackson didn't reply. After a while, he turned his head to look at Lillian, who had tightly closed eyes with trembling eyelashes and smiled.

Downstairs.

Jackson leaned over and carried Jeffrey out with Lillian leading the way, then placed him on her bed.

"Alright, you can leave now. Just have someone come pick up Jeffrey in the morning." Lillian immediately rushed him out, not even offering a glass of water.

Jackson's gaze swept around the bedroom, focusing on two large boxes and a suitcase in the corner.

"Have you packed your bags?" he asked.

As Jeffrey turned over on the bed, Lillian was worried about waking him up, so she gestured for Jackson to talk in the living room.

After closing the door, she turned around and replied, "Yes, I'm getting things in order."

As Jackson thought about her leaving soon, his eyes turned sullen.

Turning around, Jackson unexpectedly sat down on the sofa.

Lillian frowned and said, "I didn't ask you to sit."

"I'm thirsty. Is it too much to ask for a glass of water?" Jackson said.

Gritting her teeth, Lillian went to pour water for Jackson and handed it to him, saying, "Hurry up."

After taking the glass, Jackson frowned and asked, "Is it cold?"

Lillian snatched the glass back, saying, "If you don't want it, forget it."

With a click of his tongue, Jackson didn't let go. "I do."

After taking a sip, he said, "I'm staying over tonight."

Lillian didn't expect him to push further, so her expression turned cold.

"No, drink your water and leave!" Lillian retorted.

Even if Shirley wasn't coming back to the set tonight, Lillian couldn't let Jackson stay overnight. They had just filed for divorce.

After taking another sip of water, Jackson placed the glass on the coffee table, leaned back against the sofa chair, loosened his tie, and crossed his long legs.

"I didn't ask for your opinion," he said.

Lillian sneered. "Mr. Frane, before you give orders, please remember, this isn't Star Group, let alone the Frane family."

Jackson nodded. "However, I call the shots in Miracalia."

Lillian was speechless.

Indeed, in Miracalia, he did call the shots. Even if Lillian called the police, they wouldn't dare to do anything.

Lillian's face tensed, and a hint of amusement flashed in Jackson's eyes before he continued, "Jeffrey's condition is unstable. He could have a fever and nosebleeds at any time. If he becomes restless in the middle of the night, you won't be able to take him to the hospital in time."

Thinking about the situation he described, Lillian hesitated.

Jackson stood up and said, "Forget it. I'll wait in the car. Call me if you need anything."

With that, he walked to the door with his tall and straight figure.

Lillian thought that he seemed genuinely concerned about Jeffrey, with no ulterior motives.

Besides, it was winter now, so it was cold in the car at night, especially since Jackson was only wearing a suit.

If he had been using the air conditioner in the car, it would have been more likely to cause an accident.

As Lillian thought back to the video Jeffrey had sent her earlier and how Jackson had stood up for her today, she bit her lip and spoke up, "Fine, do as you please. But I don't have a bed for you here. If you're willing, you can just make do on the sofa..."

"Sure." Before she could finish her sentence, Jackson turned towards the sofa, even taking off his suit jacket and tossing it aside.

He seemed relaxed and at ease as if he were in his own home.

Lillian felt that she was being played.
