Chapter 196 Still Angry?
Lillian got startled and stepped back, her slippers tripping on the carpet and causing her to stumble and fall backward.
Jackson, who had entered through the window, took a quick step forward and reached out to grab Lillian's waist, pulling her back.
Lillian fell into Jackson's arms, grabbing his clothes and looking up in a state of shock.
Their eyes met, and Lillian was stunned.
Jackson was casually dressed in sportswear, his hair not meticulously styled as usual but rather tousled.
He hadn't even blow-dried his hair, which now hung almost dry in front of his eyes. The sunlight streamed in from the window, casting a glow in his hair and making him look fresh with a hint of youthful charm.
It was somewhat reminiscent of the handsome young man in her memories who used to make her feel shy and flustered.
Lillian couldn't control her emotions, her heart rate slowing down, her mind going blank.
Jackson's eyes sparkled with amusement, and he asked, "Are you scared? So timid?"
Lillian returned to her senses and pushed Jackson away.
"How did you come in through the window? This is the second floor. If you need to leave in a hurry, I'll tell Lyra..."
Before Lillian could finish her sentence, Jackson spread his palm towards her, and in his palm lay a few orange candies.
Once again, Lillian was stunned. Jackson raised his hand towards her, offering the candies to her.
Lillian was breathless, feeling like she was in a dream.
It was like a young man climbing up to his beloved girl's window just to give her candies, which was a sweet and innocent scene that seemed almost unreal.
"Why are you standing there? Look. Is it your favorite orange candy?" Jackson's voice was playful as he peeled a candy and offered it to Lillian's lips.
Lillian instinctively opened her mouth and ate it, the sweet and sour orange flavor spreading between her lips and teeth.
Her heart felt sweet and torn, too.
"Is it delicious?" Jackson raised his hand again, patting Lillian's head.
With the candy he gave her in her mouth, she felt his rare tenderness.
Lillian's heart felt like it was floating on a cloud.
She looked up and said, "Very sweet."
Jackson seemed pleased with her response, his face softening. He bent slightly to meet her gaze, asking, "Are you still angry?"
Lillian wanted to cry, but she raised a sincere smile.
She blushed slightly and shook her head, stubbornly saying, "I told you I'm not angry anymore."
Jackson chuckled mockingly. How could he not see that now she truly didn't mind the incident of falling into the water anymore?
Jackson felt a bit helpless yet amused, tapping Lillian's head, saying, "Other women would demand bags, cars, jewelry, and houses when they're angry. How come you're still childish that easily appeased with candy?"
With the orange candy in her mouth, Lillian took the remaining candies from Jackson's palm and said, "I just like candy. It is sweet."
She turned around, but Jackson reached out with a smile.
"Let me taste how sweet it is. Why is it even better than bank cards and jewelry?"
Lillian clenched her fist, pocketed the candies, and said, "You brought the candies yourself. Go get more if you want. These are mine now."
When she protected the candies, she looked like a cat guarding its food, childish yet very cute.
Jackson found it amusing, so he bent down and lifted Lillian up, causing her to gasp in surprise. Instinctively, she held onto Jackson and looked up.
Before she could see Jackson's face clearly, darkness enveloped her vision.
He leaned down and kissed her directly, his tongue exploring and finding the half piece of orange candy she had hidden. He savored the sweet and sour taste with her together.
Blushing with embarrassment, Lillian punched him with her clenched fists. Jackson took a few steps while holding her, laid her down on the bed, and leaned in for a deeper kiss.
His lips and tongue were hot, and soon, the orange candy melted, and its taste disappeared.
Lillian's face flushed, her body going weak as she felt dizzy from the kiss.
Jackson's large hand slid along her spine to her waist and hip, his body reacting strongly, the air around them becoming unbearably hot.
A breeze blew in from the wide-open window, bringing a hint of coolness.
