Chapter 207 Never Will Love to Be So Heartfelt Again

Lillian breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing his command, but she uncontrollably shed tears.

The space in the car was small, and Aiden dared not speak.

Although Lillian didn't want to cry out loud, intermittent sobs were coming from her.

Jackson, with an irritated expression, turned his cold eyes towards her and said, "Lillian, if you cry again, I'll regret it!"

When he didn't divorce, she cried.

When he agreed to divorce, she still cried.

Could it be tears of joy?

As Jackson thought of this possibility, his handsome face turned sullen immediately.

His hand clenched into a fist on his knee, emitting a slight creaking sound.

Startled, Lillian's tears stopped immediately. She blinked her teary eyes, shrinking by the window like a frightened bunny.

She whispered, "Don't be fierce. I'm not crying anymore."

Jackson felt depressed inexplicably, unable to make a sound.

He sneered as he thought, 'Am I fierce?'

She had never seen him look fierce.

Jackson closed his eyes as if even a glance at her was annoying.

Lillian sighed, took out a tissue, wiped her face, and then sneakily took out a mirror to check herself.

Seeing her red eyes in the mirror, looking a bit messy, she felt regretful.

This divorce wasn't turning out as she had imagined.

Their marriage wasn't grand, and she had thought that she would take it seriously during the divorce. She planned to dress up nicely and maintain a dashing posture.

But things didn't go as planned.

Lillian sighed quietly, fixing her hair in the mirror.

Jackson closed his eyes slightly. Suddenly, his phone rang. As he opened his eyes, he saw Lillian fixing herself in the mirror.

Her relaxed demeanor made a coldness grow in his eyes.

It was Terry calling, and Jackson was about to give him an order, so he answered.

"Mr. Frane, just now at the cafe, Jenny..." Terry was reporting, but before he could continue, Jackson interrupted him and gave instructions.

Jackson said, "Go to my study at the Frane Mansion, get the documents, and deliver them to the State Court at Peace Road immediately."

Terry felt completely lost. He understood every word, but something was off.

"Mr. Frane, I beg your pardon?" he asked.

Jackson's voice asked, "Do you have a problem with your ears?"

Terry could sense Jackson's anger even through the phone, but he didn't dare to agree.

The State Court usually handled marriage and divorce matters.

Was Jackson going for a divorce?

However, wasn't he trying to reconcile with Lillian all this time? How did it come to this?

If he agreed and Jackson later blamed him for the divorce, it would ruin his prospects!

It was possible that Jackson was on speakerphone. He might have been pressured by Jackson to say what he did.

If he, as Jackson's assistant, had failed to grasp the situation that led to his divorce, his life would be in danger today.

In just a few seconds, Terry had many thoughts running through his mind.

His palms were sweating as he held the phone and shouted, "Mr. Frane, What did you say? I have a bad signal."

Under immense pressure, Terry hung up the phone.

The car fell silent, and Lillian heard Terry's words clearly.

Lillian was afraid of any mishaps, and she began to suspect that Jackson had secretly hinted to Terry to say that.

She looked at Jackson with suspicion, furrowing her brows. "Terry isn't on a remote assignment. Why is his signal bad? If your documents are at the Frane Mansion, should I call Peggy to bring them, or should we go back to the Frane Mansion to get them? There's still time."

Jackson coldly glanced at Lillian, who was extremely anxious.
