Chapter 509 Panic
Even if it was a stranger, Lillian couldn't just ignore someone getting hurt to protect her.
Besides, Jackson's rare blood type posed a significant risk abroad if his injuries worsened and he lost substantial blood.
Jackson didn't look back and said in a deep, cold voice, "Lilian, if you're really going to walk away, then stay indifferent to the end."
With that, he opened the door and left.
Lilian stayed silent.
Outside, Harry approached Jackson and said, "Mr. Frane, Don ran away."
Don had brought people over but left himself an escape route and didn't show up tonight.
Harry couldn't find Don, so he sent his men after him, but Don still got away.
Jackson frowned and said coldly, "Get more people. We need to find him ASAP, alive!"
Don, Susan's nephew, oversaw the operation. His escape could leave insufficient evidence, leading to complications.
Harry was startled by Jackson's tone. "Mr. Frane, are you worried the Price family will find him and silence him?"
Jackson pinched his brow, feeling tired, and simply said, "Go."
Before this, the Price family was like family to Jackson. He never doubted their character and felt a massive sense of guilt towards them. To him, they were gentle, kind, and tolerant.
Because of what happened to Star back then, Dominic, Susan, and Henry never blamed him. They just silently endured and treated people with tolerance.
Because of this, he trusted and respected the Price family a lot, but recent events left Jackson unsure of how to view those he once trusted.
Miracalia.
At the Price family villa, Susan looked grim, sitting in her wheelchair, trying to calm herself with her eyes closed.
She knew Don had found Lillian and planned to act tonight. But considering the time difference, it was already daylight in Country N, and there was still no news.
Don couldn't be contacted directly either, and Susan had a bad feeling. But she still held onto a sliver of hope.
Then her phone rang sharply. It was Star calling.
Susan answered, only to hear Star's panicked voice. "Mom, we've been tricked. I got to Willowbrook, and Jackson wasn't there at all. He wasn't on a business trip!
He's been acting so calm lately like he's given up on finding Lillian. It must have been a lie. Has he been suspicious of me all along?
Mom, he must have gone abroad. He's gone to find that woman! Could it be that Don was being watched when he left?"
A few days ago, Jackson suddenly said he was going on a business trip, and Star believed him. These past few days, Star had been in contact with Jackson and gotten replies as usual.
At first, Star wasn't suspicious, but Jackson's extended absence aroused her suspicion. Yesterday, she left Miracalia and rushed to Willowbrook.
She wanted to surprise Jackson, only to find out he wasn't there at all.
Star was completely panicked, and Susan's heart sank heavily upon hearing this, her face changing drastically.
"Mom, could something have happened to Don? What should we do?"
Listening to Star's frantic cries, Susan's withered fingers tightened around the phone, her face showing a ruthless expression.
"If he can't even handle this, he doesn't need to come back!"
