Chapter 295 Instigator
She thought, 'If Wendy's child is lonely and needs siblings, Wendy could have another one herself. Why should Taylor accompany him?'
Lillian chuckled coldly, her voice turning icy as she said, "What if I say I don't want to? I don't like Wendy, and I certainly won't like her child."
Jackson frowned slightly, his voice deepening. "Don't conflate Wendy and her child. Lillian, no one is asking you to like Wendy, but surely you don't mind a child, do you?"
Jackson was angry. Just a moment ago, Lillian was his simple and sweet girl, but now, when it came to Wendy, she turned into someone else.
Lillian was also very angry. In Jackson's eyes, the fact that she couldn't accept Wendy's child represented her narrow-mindedness.
Lillian reached out to pull Jackson's arms from around her waist, struggling. "Yes, I do mind. I'm selfish and narrow-minded. You didn't just know my character today."
"Stop being unreasonable!" Jackson spat out.
In the struggle, Lillian accidentally hit Jackson's abdomen with her fist, causing him to groan in pain.
Lillian froze, seeing his handsome face turn pale and a thin layer of cold sweat on his forehead. Despite her anger, she couldn't help but feel anxious and distressed.
His injury was because of her, after all.
Lillian forced down her anger and grievance, helped him lie down on the hospital bed, and said calmly, "Get some rest. I'll take the X-rays to Curtis and have him come check on you."
Continuing this discussion would only lead to endless arguments.
Lillian didn't give Jackson a chance to speak, turning and walking away quickly.
Jackson, recovering from the sharp, tearing pain, lifted his eyes to watch Lillian's retreating figure, frowning.
Lillian left the hospital room and went straight to Curtis's office.
At the corner of the hallway, Rose watched Lillian close the door to Curtis' office and then went to the nurse's station.
After inquiring, she quickly went upstairs to Wendy's hospital room.
"What happened? Why is Lillian at the hospital?"
Wendy asked eagerly. She had found it strange when she saw Lillian go to the surgical ward and left Rose to gather information.
"Mr. Frane is injured. He was stabbed and went into surgery last night. When he was brought in, he was covered in blood. The nurse said he lost a lot of blood!"
Wendy sat up in shock, "How is that possible? Jackson hasn't left Miracalia these past few days. Who could have hurt him in Miracalia?"
"I paid a nurse some money, and she revealed that when the police came to take statements this morning, she overheard a few words. It seemed to mention Sean's revenge. I guess it was Sean's mother, Deborah."
Rose's expression was serious, and she was a bit flustered.
"Wendy, this has blown up so much. If Mr. Frane finds out about Sean's involvement and that we were part of it, what will we do?"
Rose couldn't help but feel scared, and Wendy's expression also showed a moment of panic. She clutched the bedsheet and gritted her teeth.
"No, they didn't find out about us when it happened, and they won't now. Give Rodolfo some more money and make sure he stays in the countryside for a few more years. He must not return to Miracalia!"
Back then, it was Rose who instructed Rodolfo to spread rumors about Lillian at the Mermaid-themed restaurant, which incited the jealous waitress Elowen to tell Sean about it.
Sean was then led to attempt something against Lillian. After the incident, Rose gave Rodolfo some money to disappear for a while.
Wendy didn't expect this matter to be unresolved, and now Jackson was injured because of it.
Of course, she was afraid of being found out as the instigator.
"Okay, I understand." Rose nodded.
Wendy thought for a moment, then picked up her phone to call Daisy.
Jackson was injured because of Lillian, and such good news had to be shared with Daisy.
