Chapter 324 Make Me Happy
Lillian blinked, realizing just how cunning Jackson was.
He didn't directly bring up canceling the divorce, but somehow, he had subtly led her into it.
She puffed out her cheeks and snorted, "No way! You've done too many things that upset me. I'm only staying temporarily because of Taylor and because your injury is somewhat related to me! I'm not that easy to please. You're just a prentice husband!"
"Prentice husband?" Jackson raised an eyebrow and asked.
Lillian nodded. "Don't you get it? It's like an intern at Star Group. There's less than a month left in the internship period. If you pass, I'll decide based on the situation. But if your performance during the internship doesn't satisfy me, Mr. Frane, you should be very clear about the process, right?"
Jackson fell silent.
Seeing his silence, Lillian squinted her eyes and asked, "Do you have any objections?"
Jackson sighed. "So, Mrs. Frane, what are my internship guidelines? What requirements do I need to meet to pass the internship period? After all, it's my first time being an intern. Please guide me."
Jackson's gaze seemed to hold a hint of tease, and he let her have her way.
Lillian's heart skipped a beat. She was unable to resist the surge of sweetness.
Her cheeks flushed slightly as she extended a finger, saying, "The internship guideline is simple, just one! You need to make me happy!"
Jackson nodded. "Since it's an internship, can you issue my offer?"
Lillian was stunned, asking, "What offer?"
Jackson reached his right hand into the pocket of his hospital gown. After a moment, he extended his hand, palm open.
There was a man's diamond ring in his palm.
It was their wedding ring.
Lillian's gaze fixed on the ring, and her mouth slightly opened in surprise, a bittersweet feeling welling up in her chest.
She looked up at him and asked, "Didn't you throw the wedding ring away?"
She thought, 'That day, he has clearly thrown the wedding ring out of the car window in front of me. How could it still be here?'
Jackson brought the ring to Lillian and said, "I didn't throw it away."
She thought, 'So, he has tricked me again! Did Jackson know how much it hurt me to see him throw away the wedding ring?'
Lillian's eyes grew warm, and her movements paused.
Jackson urged, "Even though I'm a prentice husband, I'm still your husband. Don't I deserve an offer? Come on, put it on for me."
Lillian picked up the wedding ring, took his hand, and put the ring back on him.
Jackson looked at it with satisfaction, continuing, "Issuing an offer is a two-way choice. Your ring is at the Peace Mansion. Wear it later."
Lillian remained silent.
She thought Jackson was a qualified capitalist.
Just as Lillian was at a loss for words, Jackson flipped her over, holding her in his arms.
He pressed her onto the hospital bed.
Lillian's head sank into the soft pillow, her long hair falling into his large hand. Jackson's thin lips gently touched her forehead and brows, brushed past the corners of her eyes and the tip of her nose, and came to the edge of her lips.
His breathing grew heavier, and his lips softly touched her lips but didn't go deeper. Their breaths mingled, soft and slightly ticklish, making her nervous and expectant, her heart racing.
Lillian's eyelashes fluttered lightly, and Jackson's thin lips were against her red lips as he asked softly with a smile, "Do you like being kissed like this? Does this make you happy?"
Lillian felt like she was teasing an intern.
She hadn't known he could be so seductive. They had never flirted like this before.
At this moment, Lillian admitted she was naive and inexperienced. She couldn't resist his flirting, feeling her heart melting.
Her eyes filled with affection, and she was too shy to speak. She just raised her hand to wrap around Jackson's neck, slightly tilting her head and parting her lips, silently inviting him.
Jackson's breathing instantly became erratic. His large hand held the back of Lillian's head tightened slightly as he slowly deepened the kiss.
The next evening.
Lillian personally prepared dinner for two and brought them to the hospital.
